Harland "Bo" D. Byrley, 85, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Sunday morning, December 30, 2018 at his home with his loving family surrounding him.
Bo was born on March 22, 1933 in Corbin, KY to the late Fred and Beatrice (Rhinehart) Byrley.
Bo graduated from Corbin High School in Corbin, Kentucky in 1952, where he was a member of the Red Hounds Booster Club. He retired from New Departure Hyatt - General Motors in 1992 after 40 years of service. Bo was a deacon, board member and long term member of First Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. Bo was a wonderful open-armed husband, father, grandfather, friend and always enjoyed time with family and friends.
Bo is survived by his beautiful loving wife, Patricia (Schweinfurth) Byrley, whom he married on July 14, 1956. He is also survived by his daughters, Pamela (Phillip) Harris of Louisville, KY and Elizabeth (Michael) Breay of Huron; son, David (Teri) Byrley of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandchildren, Alyssa, Josh, Holly, Ashleigh, Robbie, Benjamin, Olivia and Noah; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Bo is preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Johnson, Laura Slusher, Ruth Brown and brother, Everett Byrley.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Friends may also call on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at First Christian Church, 3410 Hayes Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Don Spurlock will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
