October 21, 1929 ~ May 22, 2019
Lucy Mae (Donald) Blount, 89, gained her wings on Thursday, May 22, 2019 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH.
She was born on October 21, 1929 to the late Joseph and Alberta (Parker) Donald.
She was a retiree of the Ohio Veterans Home. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan. Games were playing on the television or on the radio off the front porch. If she wasn’t on the porch, “looking,” as she would say, you could catch her in her garden.
She married Julian Blount, and they were married 51 years until his passing in 2001. From this union three sons were born.
Lucy leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Leonard Blount, Oliver "Ike" Blount, and Willie Blount, all of Sandusky; nine grandchildren, Damesha Shine, Chantal Alexander, DeWan Blount, Erin Alexander, Bryonia (Tavon) Myers, Ashandi Blount, Kiewann Collins, Asia (Kendrick) Blount, and Devareis Blount; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cleo Donald, of Sandusky, and Paul (Delois) Donald, of Newton, MS; special friend/family, Neicy Farris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; her parents; sister, Mary Alice Haney; and brothers, Joe Lee Donald, Mack Donald, and Walter Donald.
Friends may call on Friday, May 31 from 11 a.m. until funeral services begin at 12 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
