Randy A. Bledsoe

August 1, 1953 ~ September 13, 2017

Randy A. Bledsoe, age 64, of Huron, passed away Wednesday morning, September 13, 2017, at his home with his loving wife by his side.

He was born at Sandusky Memorial Hospital on August 1, 1953, to Winfield S. Bledsoe and Florence E. (Majoy) Bledsoe. Randy grew up in Huron and attended Huron High School and EHOVE. While attending school, he studied carpentry, a skill that was put to use quite often, whether it was at his own home with his many projects given to him by his wife or at the home of another family member or friend. He worked for Penn Central, Conrail and Norfolk Southern railroads, retiring after 41 years of service. He made a lot of friends and touched a lot of lives with his sense of humor and outspoken personality. Randy would do anything for anybody. He loved gardening, and always planted way too many plants. He loved taking his dogs, Jager and Romulus, to the beach. He adored his son's dog, Apollo, even though he would cuss him out for stepping on his feet with his huge Great Dane paws. Shelling on the beaches in Naples and Marco Island was one of his favorite hobbies. But by far the most loved hobby of all was fishing. He taught all of his kids and grandkids how to fish and never would say no to an offer to go. Fishing with his grandson, Gus, or making lures on the front porch was a favorite. He fished up until the week before his passing.

He married the love of his life, Cheryl, on August 14, 1971. He was an awesome dad that did everything for his kids. He was a kickass grandpa that taught many life lessons to his grandkids.

He is survived by both parents, Winfield and Florence (Majoy) Bledsoe, Huron. Cheryl (Tippie) Bledsoe, wife of 41 years, two sons Randy (Kelly) Bledsoe, Wickliffe, and Michael Bledsoe, Huron; three daughters Crissy Griffin, Perkins, Carrie (Daniel) Manuso, Tontogany, OH, and Cindy (Robert) Taubennestler, Huron; grandchildren Arielle Blanca, Morgan and Spencer Griffin, Hannah and Erich Taubennestler, Addison Bledsoe, Gus, Anthony, Grace, and Isabella Mancuso; great grandchildren Beckham (Little Alan) Blanca; brother David (Joann) Bledsoe, Huron; sisters Denise Kopke, Huron, and Diane (Tom) Simpson, Huron; and a lot of awesome nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Friday, September 15, 2017, at Foster Funeral Home and Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron, OH 44839, where closing prayers will be recited on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 9:30 am.
