Wanda L. (Gayhart) Bays

October 16, 1932 ~ February 27, 2019

Wanda L. Bays, 86, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in her daughter's home in North Fort Myers, FL.

She was born October 16, 1932 to Harrison and Suzanne Gayhart in New Boston, Ohio. She received her G.E.D. at EHOVE Adult Education.

Wanda was a member of Wayside Temple in Castalia. She retired from Westvaco Industries in Sandusky then continued to work several more years as a cleaning matron at Cedar Point and Norwalk City Schools. She enjoyed traveling, puttering in her flower gardens, attending the activities of her many grandchildren, and hosting holiday gatherings in her home.

She is survived by four children, Susan (Tony) Pollack, of North Fort Myers, FL., John (Cheryl) Bays, of Sandusky, Randy Bays, of Sandusky, and Kim Pelc, of Nokomis, FL; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Donald Bays; her parents; and four siblings.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 until funeral services begin at 12 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Ken Hiser will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
