Carolyn Marie (Brady) Abele

February 8, 1943 ~ April 19, 2019

Carolyn Marie (Brady) Abele, a beautiful sweet soul of 76, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday evening, April 19, 2019, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.

Born on February 8, 1943, in Fremont, OH the daughter of Jack Ernest and Emma (Bowes) Brady. She was a 1961 graduate of Seaholm High School in Birmingham, MI. Carolyn had worked at Rite Aid, in the Sandusky Plaza, for 43 years, retiring in 2008. She loved caring for her cats and enjoyed taking the time to watch her daytime soaps. She will be remembered by her family how she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and sharing the leaves of her peppermint and spearmint plants with her grandchildren, who she loved very much, as they enjoyed the flavor of the leaves. Carolyn will also be remembered for how she was always cooking or doing something in the kitchen when you would come to visit the house and how she enjoyed finding a good deal, either with the use of coupons or rummaging through the local Thrift Shops.

She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where, over the years, she had been a greeter, had sang in the choir for a few years and volunteered in the school cafeteria . Carolyn had also been a member of the local CB Club, with her husband George, her handle being "Mama Who."

She is survived by her family, Tom (Nancy) Abele of Sandusky, Pat (Toni) Abele of Bellevue, Tim Abele of Sandusky and Melissa (Art) Weyer of Sandusky; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Deb) Brady of Pontiac, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 53 years, George W.E. Abele, Jr. on February 7, 2019.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 3-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Thursday morning, April 25, 2019, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
