Brooklyn Township, when originally surveyed, was known as Township 7 in Range 13 of the Connecticut New Western Reserve stretched to Lake Erie. The governmental body was formed in 1818. What was the township contains part of Cleveland, Brooklyn Heights, Cuyahoga Heights, Linndale, and Newburgh Heights and the last part became the city of Brooklyn. (Information from Wikipedia)
