Cuyahoga County and Cleveland Books

The following is a list of books about Cleveland, Ohio and some of the various ethnic groups who settled in Cleveland. You may find some of these in your local library, and if not, you can try to order them via inter-library loan. We have also included links for those books that are available online or for download.

This collection is a beginning, mostly from Western Reserve University libraries digitized books. But there are books available from many universities and libraries, Google Books, HeritageQuest, InternetArchive.org, Ancestry and others. Books at FamilySearch -- is another major digitized collection. Some 150,000 digitized family history books and genealogies, as well as county and local histories, genealogy magazines and how-to books, gazetteers, medieval histories and pedigrees come from the Family History Library, the Allen County Public Library, Brigham Young University Library, Houston Public Library, Mid-Continent Public Library, Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and the Onondaga County Public Library.

If you have favorite Cuyahoga books to add, please contact the webmaster.
