Jane Wilson Neilan, beloved wife of Judge John F. Neilan died at her home at 335 East Wood Street, at 1020 o'clock, this forenoon after a lingering illness, in the 55th year of her age. She had been confined to her room since last October and with the exception of brief intervals continued to steadily decline in health. She was given the best of medical care and attention and was constantly surrounded with the tenderest of loving ministrations but it gradually became apparent that the end was inevitablbly approaching and grief became doubly great in the certainty of impending bereavement and the fruitlessness of hope. Early last Saturday morning Mrs. Neilan became unconscious and her death ensued today, ending the sufferings that she had long so bravely borue in the peace and quietude of painless, dreamless sleep.

While many in this city and county were appraised of the gravity of her condition the news of her death occasioned the sincerest expressions of sympathy and sorrow.

Jane Wilson Kincaid Neilan was a daughter of Jackson Kincaid, a virginian, by birth and Isabella Hill, a daughter of Robert Hill, who was a pioneer settler of Millville and for years a postmaster and justice of the peace in the village. Mrs. Neilan was born in Carroll County, Indiana near Delphi and came to Millville when she was 12 years old. She was educated in the village schools and continued to reside in Millville until her marriage to Judge Neilan in this city, June 21, 1874, the Rev. Father Hone, a former and well beloved pastor of St. Mary's church officiating at the ceremony. After her marriage she resided with her husband in this city until called away today. Of the union six children were born: Thomas K. and William H.Neilan, who died in infancy and Mary, John F. Neilan jr., Jane and Robert H. Neilan was living at home. Mrs. Neilan was largely related to many in this county and to the descendents of the older families who like her parents, came here years ago. She was a woman of rare tact and grace, of winning ways, of fine common sense and she especially happy in her home life wherein she was ever beautiful. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's church and socities and was ever foremost but unostentations in the furtherence of the church work and interests. She was kind and charitable and devoted to the counsels and companionship of her husband. The funeral party will leave the home at 8 a.m Monday for St. Mary's Church where the requiem high mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. The burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.

The pall bearers will be W.J. Coakley, J.F. Heath, C.E. Mason, J.J Pater, Jos. D. Foster, and John F. Hogan of Detroit.
