PETER ROBERT FABRI
Peter Robert Fabri was born on September 25, 1910 in Yerington, Nevada to Louis and Gemma (Masini) Fabri. The couple had four children: Peter, Carol, Harry and Eleanor. Louis was a prominent businessman in Yerington.
Peter worked for his dad after school and on Saturdays; he joined the business full time when he completed high school in 1929.
Peter married Phyllis Kalla Little on June 16, 1935 in Inglewood, California at the home of her parents. They had three children: Dale, Robert and Karen.
Phyllis died unexpectedly in a Reno, Nevada hospital on July 30, 1952. She was buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yerington.
Peter was active in various local civic and community affairs including Rotary Club, Eagle and Boy Scout Clubs,and the 20-30 Club. He served as a volunteer with the Fire Dept. for 33 years and was a member of the school board for 12 years. He was a co-chairman with Louis Isola for Lyon County's Radio Free Europe's "Crusade for Freedom" drive.
Peter married Mrs. Orpha Adelle Dietrich on June 14, 1959. They lived in Yerington until Peter retired from Fabri Furniture in 1972. They moved to Chico, CA for a few years where Peter was named Senior Adult of 1980. Following a minor stroke, they moved to Sun City, AZ to be near family. Peter continued to be active in local community affairs until his death on Oct. 8, 1991, in Phoenix.
His body was taken to Yerington for burial. The funeral service was held in the local high school auditorium to accommodate the large number of local people paying their respect to a much admired father, husband and businessman.
Peter was buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yerington, Nevada next to his first wife Phyllis.
