Page, Frederick ~ Wednesday, March 1, 2000. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville for Frederick William Page, 79, who died Feb. 28 in Mesa, Ariz. Mr. Page was a longtime member of Fort Churchill Post 2288 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Silver Springs. The War Veterans Memorial Association of Western Nevada will officiate at the ceremony. Mr. Page was born Oct. 19, 1920, in Portadown, Ireland.

Park, Brooks ~ Saturday, January 29, 2000. Wallace Brooks Park, 87, died on Jan. 27 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Carson City. A funeral mass will be on Monday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Gall, with burial at Mottsville Cemetery in Minden. Mr. Park was born in San Francisco, Calif., on Aug. 31, 1912, to Wallace and Margaret Hickey Park. A lifelong resident of Gardnerville, he loved ranching and was president of Park Cattle Company and developer of Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. Mr. Park enjoyed golf and participating in church activities at St. Gall, where he was a member. He was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Park Pruett and Mildred Lourdeaux. Survivors include his wife Jeanne Park of Gardnerville; son Bruce Park of Minden and daughters Jeanne Blach of Elko and Kay Seeliger of Reno; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Parker, Sadie ~ October 12, 1999. Private family services will be held today, Oct. 13, for Sadie Brown Parker, who died on Oct. 9 at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno at the age of 73.Mrs. Parker was born on Jan. 12, 1926, in Southgate, Calif., to Harry and Letta Brown. On Dec. 27, 1946, she married Ralph Parker in Upland, Calif. She was a homemaker and lived in Ventura, Calif., from 1948 to 1993 and in Minden since 1993. Mrs. Parker was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter AA of Carson City. She enjoyed traveling, needlework, gardening and was a local history buff. Her grandchildren, Sarah and Erin Cook, were the light and pride of her life. Surviving are her husband Ralph Parker of Minden; son R. Dalton Parker of San Diego, Calif., and daughter and son-in-law Tedra and Michael Cook of Carson City; sisters Hazel Quackenbush of Auburn, Calif., and Ella Homutoff of Chino, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Partelow, Ronald ~ Saturday, July 15, 2000. Ronald H. Partelow, 56, died July 13 in Minden. A celebration of life will be held tomorrow, July 16, at noon at the home of Bill and Bernie Bechdolt in Tahoe City. Mr. Partelow was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Taft, Calif., to Rufus and Dixie Partelow. He lived in Incline Village the past 30 years and had served in the Nevada Air National Guard for two years. He worked in construction for most of his life and was employed as a superintendent for Ranger Pipeline at the time of his death. Mr. Partelow was predeceased by his parents. Survivors include Julie and Rosalie Contri of Minden; sons Eric of Incline Village, David and his wife Sherri of Gardnerville, Aaron and his wife Julia of Las Vegas, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Patt, Mary ~ Wednesday, December 22, 1999. Mary Ellen Patt, 75, died on Dec. 17 at her Gardnerville home. She was born on July 6, 1924, in Bainbridge, Ohio, to Floyd and Julia Newland Sprinkle. She graduated from Bainbridge High School, attended Northwestern University, Oklahoma State University, The Pratt Institute, University of California at Los Angeles, Santa Monica College and Western Nevada Community College. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired as a budget analyst with Hughes Helicopters in 1982. She also served as Senate Recording Clerk for the Nevada State Legislature during sessions. Mrs. Patt was a member of Ocean Park Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Santa Monica, Calif., Sierra Club, National Rifle Association, Audubon Society, Wilderness Society, North American Fishing Club, W.I.B.C., The Nature Conservancy, AARP and the American Legion. She loved hiking with Cindy, her golden retriever. Surviving Mrs. Patt are her daughters Julie Ann Cokonougher of Gardnerville and Sue Ellen Knabel of Virginia City and son Phillip A. Yoakum of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pedego, Dorothy ~ Wednesday, November 10, 1999. A memorial service for Dorothy Lucille Pedego, 81, was held on Nov. 8 at Genoa Community Church. Rev. Julie Johnson officiated. Mrs. Pedego died on Oct. 4 at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno. She was born on May 22, 1918, in Tipton, Mo., to Henry and Lucille Briscoe. She was a homemaker and had lived in Hemet, Calif., before moving to Gardnerville 15 years ago. Her husband, Ray Sterling Pedego, predeceased her on April 9, 1984. Mrs. Pedego is survived by her sons Cameron Pedego of Minden, Keith Pedego of South Lake Tahoe and Craig Pedego of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and four grandchildren.

Pellegrini, Gloria ~ Saturday, October 7, 2000. Gloria Amelia Baldecchi Pellegrini, 75, died at Carson Health Care Center in Carson City Oct. 6. She was born in East Paterson, N.J., June 9, 1925, to Ugo and Anna Francisconi Baldecchi. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in education at the University of California at Los Angeles, and was an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles for 33 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Pellegrini moved to Minden 11 years ago, coming from Brentwood, Calif., where she had lived since 1939. Her husband, Henry Pellegrini, died March 13, 1999. She was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. Survivors include nephews Dr. Bruce Baldecchi of Carson City and Joseph Baldecchi of Incline Village; niece Theresa Horgan of Carson City; two great nephews, one great niece and numerous cousins. Rosary will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, 10:30 a.m., at St. Gall church, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Readsboro, Vt.

Perry, Sharon ~ Saturday, May 13, 2000. A funeral Mass for Sharon Ann Perry, 60, will be held at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville today, May 13, at 11 a.m. Father Bill Nadeau will officiate, and burial will follow at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Mrs. Perry died on May 10 at her Minden home. She was born on Dec. 30, 1939, in Lockport, N.Y., to John and Sadie Markowitz Carmonne. On Feb. 26, 1960, she and Frank R. Perry were married in Anaheim, Calif. Mrs. Perry was a resident of Minden for 12 years, coming from South Lake Tahoe. She was general manager for the St. Charles Hotel. She enjoyed her family and home and loved her dogs Kahlua, Cocoa Puff and Pepsi. Her parents preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband Frank R. Perry of Minden; daughters Roxanne Tom of Gardnerville and Stephanie and her husband Dan Baltazor of Carson City; son Steve Perry of Sacramento, Calif.; sister Carol MacAdam of South Lake Tahoe; brother John Carmonne of Anaheim; and grandchildren Michael, Kyle, Kevin, Julie and Alyse Tom, all of Gardnerville.

Peterson, Clara ~ September 22, 1999. A funeral service for Clara Jane Hawkins Peterson, 79, will be held tomorrow, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City. Burial will follow at Genoa Cemetery. Mrs. Peterson died on Sept. 19 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital in Carson City. She was born in Genoa on May 27, 1920, to James and Mary Ellen Campbell Hawkins. She graduated from Genoa Nevada Grade School and Douglas County High School and moved to Carson City when she was 22 years old. Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her garden and reading. She was extremely proud of her Irish and Genoa family heritage. Her husband Theodore J. Peterson died on July 4, 1995. Survivors include her children, John Peterson, Linda Prestella and Gail Benson, all of Carson City; sister Virginia Clymer of Carson City and brother Gordon Hawkins of Gold Beach, Ore.; nephew Bill King of Carson City; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Post, Edward ~ Wednesday, October 11, 2000. A memorial service for Edward C. Post, 90, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at Carson Valley Residential Care, 1189 Kimmerling Road, Gardnerville. Mr. Post died on Sept. 30 at his Gardnerville residence. He was born in Alberta, Canada, on April 25, 1910, to George and Amy Girton Post. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II from 1940 to 1945 and was awarded the Merchant Marine Combat and Pacific War Zone Bars. Mr. Post was an accountant by trade and also had worked as a bellhop at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco for many years and for a steamship company in San Pedro, Calif. He had lived in Gardnerville for 10 years, coming from San Jose, Calif. Survivors include his son George Edward Post of California; brother Bob Post of Hollywood, Calif., and sisters Betty Hawker of Bradenton, Fla., and Jean Wilson of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Powers, Shirley ~ Wednesday, March 1, 2000. Shirley Avona Powers, 90, a former Walker resident, died on Feb. 13 in Boise, Idaho, where she has lived since 1993. She was born in Seattle, Wash., on Aug. 12, 1909, to Ernest and Solveigh Veldee Hinton. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Blue Pacific Court #111 Order of Amaranth, Oceanside, Calif.; Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Delta Rho chapter; and Antelope Valley Women's Club. She worked for the Mono County Schools out of Bridgeport, Calif., and also worked for MK in Wyoming and Idaho. Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Powers; daughter Omeda Kiess; and son-in-law J.M. Duncan.Surviving are her daughter Avona C. Duncan of Boise; son-in-law, Cliff Kiess of Willamina, Ore.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date and she will be interred at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.
