Joseph PLEDGER born abt. 1735 in Salem Co. New Jersey married on
11 Sep 1762 to Mary MCKEEN. Joseph was then disowned by the
Quaker church for marrying out of the faith. He soon left the
area around 1765. On 27 July 1769, Joseph and Mary PLEDGER sold
Netherland Farm to his uncle Robert JOHNSON. I would like to find
evidence showing where Joseph and Mary PLEDGER moved after they
left Salem. It is thought that they moved to North Carolina. One
cousin of mine thinks they moved to Granville Co. North Carolina
and had at least two sons Thomas PLEDGER and Murrell PLEDGER.
Murrell may have been born in New Jersey, but Thomas was born in
Granville Co. NC.

have been unsuccessfully made to prove the identity of the father

Seek HAMLER/HAMMLER family between 1740 when Nicolaus Hamler
