-----Original Message----- My mother-in-law Frances LaBaugh, nee Minard, recently showed me material her mother Clara Minard, nee Lee, had left her. Within her papers I found 5 letters written in the 1860's. Two described camp life of the Indiana 3rd Cavalry and were written by Robert De Forest Lee to his brother Clarence F. Lee in Morristown, New Jersey. The other 3 were written by Elizabeth Benjamin, nee Fisher, or her husband to Emily Maria Lee, nee Fisher, the wife of Cyrus Lee and mother of Robert De Forest Lee. These later letters described the sickness and death of Robert De Forest Lee after the regiment moved to Kentucky. The 3 pdfs attached contain these letters. I hope others find them as instructional as I, Modenna LaBaugh |
