I am searching for information about Nicholas A. DALLEY, 1806-1878, buried in Readington Reformed Church graveyard in Readington, along with his wife, Catherine DEMOTT DALLEY, 1811-1895, and their oldest daughter, Sarah DALLEY QUICK, 1831-1863. Nicholas' son, John, married a Mary Elizabeth LUNGER around 1861. Her father's name may have been Morris or Fritz. I would like to find a marriage record. I am looking for evidence of Nicholas as a shoemaker before he turned farmer, possibly in Tewkesbury Twp. Also any other court records. He seems to have owned property only briefly. I would like to prove a link between this DALLEY family and that of Peter S. DALLEY, surrogate, who was Nicholas' contemporary and witnessed his will. I have visited the Hunterdon County Historical Society and found evidence that Nicholas' father, Julius/Yellus also lived in Hunterdon County for at least part of his adult life. Nicholas' mother was a widow, Martha WILLET, when she married Julius in 1799. Both families seem to have moved between Hunterdon and Somerset counties. |
