Who Are SAMUEL M. DALRYMPLE's parents?

Samuel M. DALRYMPLE was born 9 February 1799, d. 28 October 1875. He married (1) Nov 11 1820 Sarah Ann HIGGINS, dau of John HIGGINS & Priscilla WERT. (2) 28 Sept 1864 Mrs. Rebecca BLACKWELL. In the 1830, 1840, 1850 census he was in Kingwood Twp, and by the 1860 census he was in Little York, Alexandria Twp. where he lived for 16 years and was one of the earliest settlers.

Believe SAMUEL M. DALRYMPLE was one of the sons of the 7 sons of JAMES, the progenitor of the Hunterdon Co. family. May also be a grandson! Have been trying to untangle this mystery for 40 years! Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated!
