STYERS
I am looking for the origins of my ancestor, SAMUEL STYERS, who was born in NJ, Jan 11, 1760. his wife was Rhoda (or Rhuta) Bennett. They moved from NJ prior to 1786 to Surry County, NC (present day Forsyth county) and are buried in Abbots Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The US census of 1790 indicated that the Styers name appeared in Hunterdon County. After moving to NC, the Styers family merged with the Moravians of that area. I would greatly appreciate any knowledge and/or help in establishing the Styers homeplace in NJ or their origins in Europe.
