HOFFMAN
I am researching the Hoffmans of Cokesbury, NJ. The information I have
suggests that we are descended from a Hermaines (Hermanus) Hoffman who
arrived in the area about 1710 after arriving in Delaware bay after being
blown off course for New York. After disembarding in Philadelphia the band
started overland to New York but stopped in a fertile valley in New Jersey
which is now known as German Valley. Our first known relative was Henry
Hoffman who had ten children, Harmon, John, Peter M., Henry, Frederick, Eva,
Annie and Mary.
Henry's wifes name is not known.
Harmon married Ann Schuyler
John married Ann Elizabeth young
Peter M. married Catherine ______
Henry married Gertrant ________
Frederick married Lena Schuyler, then Mamie Hartrum and had 18 children
Eva married Adam Teets
Annie married Peter Lance
Mary married William Shueler.
Information on the family will be greatly apprectiated.
