EDINGTON
Phillip EDINGTON was born in England. He came to America with a brother,
george EDINGTON ca 1700 and settled in Burlington County, New Jersey. He
was married in St. Mary's Episcopal Church there on Dec. 18, 1704 to
Abagail CURTIS, born ca 1678 in Bugbrook, Northamptonshire, England. She
was the daughter of Thomas CURTIS and jean.
Phillip and Abagail had 4 known children. They were Phillip, b ca 1710, James, b ca 1715, Robert, b ca 1717 in Hunterdon County, N. J., and John b ca 1720 in Hunterdon County, N. J. Phillip died May 1, 1727 in Amwell Twp., Hunterdon County, N. J.
His son, Robert, married a Swedish woman ca 1738. They had 3 known children. They were: Robert, b ca 1740; Jonathan, b ca 1744 in Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co., N.J.; and Samuel, b ca 1746. Robert died ca 1790. His son, Jonathan Marr 1770. He was a Lt. in the Rev. War. He served on a court martial Dec. 10, 1777. He and his wife had 11 known children: Robert, b 1796; Jonathan, b. 1798; Jacob, b ca 1799; John, b ca 1780; Charles, b ca 1781; James, b 1782; Eleazor, b ca 1804; Catherine, b 1806; Nancy, b 1808; Amelia, b ca 1809; Charity, b ca 1810. Jonathan died Sept. 1815 in Antes Twp., Huntingdon County, Pa. I would be glad to share information with anyone else working on these families.
