13. Dr. Joshua Weeks (3) (Joshua 2, Leonard 1) of Greenland and Hampton, and his 1st. wife Martha Wingate, had born in Greenland:
i. Rev. Joshua Wingate, H. Col. 1758, ordained in England, rector of St. Michael’s Church, Marblehead, MA.; m. Miss Sarah Treadwell of Ipswich, MA; had eight children. After 13 years he was driven from his parish for his political opinions and 3 years later was refused permission to remove his wife and children, but escaped to England and became a chaplain at Halifax, N.S., where he died in 1806, aged 68.
ii. Comfort, b. 1740; m. Mar. 3, 1760, Dr. Coffin (son of William) Moore of Stratham, who d. Candia, 1778. She had: 1, William (Moore), m. Anne Carr, 2. Martha, m. C. Prince, 3, Coffin, m. Ordained in England, and after 15 years as rector of an Episcopal church in Pownalboro (now Dresden), ME, he was driven from it in 1779, leaving his wife and 6 chil. in destitute circumstances. He was loyal to his mother country. For the last 26 years of his life he was rector of St. Lukes Church, Annapolis, N.S., where he d. in 1808. His widow d. there in 1818.

Revolutionary War veteran and 4 years representative in the Legislature. He d. in Sept. 1818, on his way from Lancaster to Greenland, he d. suddenly at Wakefield, aged 69 years. His child. were: 1. RUTH WEEKS SMITH, b. Jan. 19, 1772 Newbury, VT.; d. Nov. 18, 1861 Bath; m.. March 17, 1789 in Bath to James Smith son of Joseph, b. ______1732 Sharon, CT; d. June 23, 1800 and Naomi Johns, d. June 16, 1831, age 92 years. Both are buried in the Carbee private cemetery in Bath. James Smith was a revolutionary soldier as a private under Capt. Timothy Barrow’s Regiment.
