77. JOHN5 FIFIELD (970) (Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, William1) was born on 20 May 1762 in Rumford, provincial N.H (Ibid., Parents given as Benjamin and Hannah Peters.). He was christened on 4 Mar 1792 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine. He on 23 May 1790. He and Phebe Frye (971) obtained a marriage license on 10 Jun 1790 (Georgiana Hewins Lilly, Eliab Lyon and his Descendants (n.p.: Manuscript at LDS Library, 1932). Hereinafter cited as Lyon genealogy.). He married Phebe Frye (971), daughter of Simon Frye (24707) and Hannah Johnson (24708), on 13 Jun 1790 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine (Ibid.). He died on 12 Nov 1843 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine, at age 81 (Maine Old Cemetery Association, Maine Headstones (Augusta, Maine: MOCA), Oxford Co., Fryeburg, Menotomy Yard #1, 81 yrs 7 mos. John came to Fryeburg with his brother-in-law Ezra Carter. He served in the Continental Army in the Revolution. His history is thoroughly covered in The Ancestry and Descendants of Thomas Stickney Evans and Sarah Ann Fifield His Wife by Walter Lee Shepard, Jr. privately printed in 1940. He began military service in Feb 1781 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine ("Pension record", Revolutionary War Pension Records, State of Maine.); Enlisted for three years, Massachusetts Regiment of Artillery, Capt. John Silly's Company. He ended military service on 10 Jun 1783 in West Point, Orange, New York (Ibid.). Annual allowance $96, received 181.59, pension suspended under act May 1, 1820. Age given as 58, served Massachusetts line as private on 13 Apr 1818 in Oxford, Maine.

175. i. JONATHAN FRYE6 (1471) was born on 13 Oct 1790. He and Lydia Frye Whiting (1472) obtained a marriage license on 13 Apr 1816. He died on 11 May 1878 at age 87.

ii. WILLIAM (1473) was born on 16 Oct 1792. He was christened on 6 Jan 1793 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine. He died on 8 Jun 1793.

176. iii. BENJAMIN (1474) was born on 27 Mar 1794. He married Catharine Walker Evans (1475) on 23 Nov 1820. He died on 7 Aug 1863 at age 69.

iv. PHOEBE (1476) was born on 22 May 1796. She was christened on 5 Oct 1796 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine. She died on 14 Jan 1876 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass., at age 79 (MAVR,: 284.:50.).
Phebe was unmarried as of 24 April 1838. In 1850 she was living with her brother George in Cambridge, MA (1850 U. S. Federal Census Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass 1 June 1850 The National Archives Federal Archives, Waltham, Middlesex, Mass.). She appeared on the census of 1850 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass (Ibid.).

177. v. SIMON FRYE (1477) was born on 22 Sep 1798. He married Mary Morse (1478) on 16 Jan 1826 in Rumford, Oxford, Maine. He died before 1860.

vi. HANNAH (1479) was born on 7 Dec 1800.
Hannah probably died young - no baptismal record.

178. vii. WILLIAM (1480) was born on 26 Jan 1803. He married Lucy Frye (1481) on 8 Dec 1836. He married Susan H. Bryant (1482), daughter of Christopher Bryant (25148) and Susanna Swan (25149), circa 1855. He died on 21 Jul 1862 at age 59.

viii. JOHN (1483) was born on 3 Aug 1805. He died on 3 Jan 1809 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine, at age 3.

179. ix. GEORGE WASHINGTON (1484) was born on 10 Sep 1807. He married Sarah Morrill (1485) on 10 Apr 1836 in Concord, Merrimack, N.H. He died on 5 May 1879 at age 71.

x. ELIZABETH F. (1486) was born on 24 Aug 1811. She married James Jewett (27069) on 4 May 1845 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass (MAVR,: 19:11.).

Elizabeth was unmarried as of 24 April 1838. Church records of Fryeburg show 'Betsy Fifield married James Jewett, left to E. Cambridge, MA.' She and James Jewett (27069) appeared on the census of 1850 (1850 U. S. Federal Census Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass. Roll M432-325 page 98A 1 June 1850.); No children in 1850 census.

180. xi. SARAH ANN (1487) was born on 12 Jun 1814. She married Thomas Stickney Evans (1488) on 28 Mar 1837 in Fryeburg, Oxford, Maine. She died on 23 Dec 1873 at age 59.

411. ii. JOHN (2441) was born on 2 Mar 1819. He married Sarah Farrington Eastman (2442) on 16 Dec 1841. He died on 25 Mar 1844 at age 25.

iii. HANNAH MATHILDA (2352) was born on 2 Jul 1820. She died on 21 Jun 1884 at age 63 (Maine Old Cemetery Association, MOCA, Oxford Co. Stow Corner Cemetery. Stow ME.). She was buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Stow, Oxford, Maine (FAG, online unknown url, Memorial #66780762.).
Hannah died unmarried.

412. iv. JOSHUA (2353) was born on 27 May 1822. He married Caroline E. Eastman (2354), daughter of Caleb Eastman (11267) and Lucy Brickett (11268), on 15 Oct 1844. He died on 21 Oct 1909 at age 87.

v. LYDIA EMILY (2443) was born on 2 Jul 1827. She on 16 Dec 1849 in Lawrence, Essex, Mass (MAVR,: Lawrence MA VR.). She married Asa C. Clark (2444) on 6 Jan 1850 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass (Ibid., Vol. 46 page 37.). She was buried in Tamworth, Carroll, N.H.
Lydia and Asa had a daughter, Annetta, also buried in Tamworth. In the 1900 census she is in Eddington as the mother-in-law of George W. Estes.

vi. JOSEPH A. (2445) was born on 16 Nov 1829. He died on 18 Sep 1831 in Stow, Oxford, Maine, at age 1 (Maine Old Cemetery Association, MOCA, Oxford Co. Stow Corner Cemetery, Stow ME.). He was buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Stow, Oxford, Maine (FAG, online unknown url, Memorial #66781403.).

iv. JONATHAN FRYE (2319) was born on 2 Sep 1827. He died on 9 Jul 1847 at age 19.

v. CHARLES EVANS (2452) was born on 17 Mar 1829. He died on 25 Feb 1856 at age 26.

He married Mary Morse (1478) on 16 Jan 1826 in Rumford, Oxford, Maine (Maine Vital Records - microfilm copy.,: no further information in the record. Simon and his family moved to Conway, NH about 1838.

ii. HARRIET M. (2236) was born circa 1829.

415. iii. CAROLINE E. (2237) was born on 12 Jan 1834. She married William Emerson Stone (2238) on 9 Apr 1870 in Waterford, Oxford, Maine. She died on 18 Mar 1898 in Augusta, Kennebec, Maine, at age 64. She was buried in Waterford, Oxford, Maine.

iv. MARY A. (2239) was born circa 1837 in N.H.

v. LOIS F. (2240) was born circa 1839.

vi. GEORGE H. (2241) was born circa 1846 in Maine.

416. vii. JAMES JEWELL (2242) was born on 12 Jun 1848 in Madison, Carroll, N.H. He married Imogene H. Strout (2243), daughter of Captain Ezekiel Strout (14847) and Betsey Anderson (14848), on 25 Dec 1870. He died on 6 Sep 1938 in Portland, Cumberland, Maine, at age 90. He was buried on 13 Sep 1938 in Eastern Cemetery, Gorham, Cumberland, Maine.

Mary Fifield

269. MARY6 FIFIELD (1550) (David5, John4, Edward3, Benjamin2, William1) was born on 16 May 1776 in Stratham, Rockingham, N.H (Ibid., Parents given as David 27 and Abigail 29.). She married Jesse Tilton (4013) on 17 Nov 1796 in Gilmanton, Strafford, N.H (NHVR.).
She was also known as Polly (1550). The will of her mother Abigail written in 1809 refers to daughter Mary Tilton.

i. DAVID7 (25050) (Ibid., Death record, David Tilton.) (Ibid.) was born on 9 Jul 1806 in Sandwich, Strafford, N.H (Ibid.). He died on 26 May 1885 in Sandwich, Carroll, N.H., at age 78 (Ibid.).
