DIED
CZUBA--Kathryn K. Czuba, 92, of Columbus died Tuesday at Morys Haven.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Father Flavius Czuba, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home and from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the church and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at McKown Funeral Home. Rosary will be 7 p.m.; scripture service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Czuba was born Oct. 9, 1895 in Polk County, the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn (Barnas) Kush. She married Steve B. Czuba Feb. 1, 1921 in Clarks. She lived in Clarks, St. Edward and Fullerton until moving to Columbus in 1926. They owned and operated a restaurant and bar in Columbus and managed the Shady Lake Resort. Mrs. Czuba was a cook on the Union Pacific Railroad; operated the cafeteria at St. Anthony's and worked until retirement as a custodian at Columbus Bank and at Region IV. She was a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis, Franciscan Missionary Union and a charter member of St. Theresa Sodality.
Surviving are one son, Father Flavius Czuba OFM, 130 Frost St., Stone Lake, Wis. 54876; one brother, Thomas Kush Jr. of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve in 1971, six infant children, six sisters and two brothers.
