KUBICEK--Emil Kubicek dies; funeral services on Thursday
Emil Kubicek, 54, Shelby, died Monday at St. Mary's hospital. He had been ill about six months.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew's Catholic church, Polk county, with Fr. G.R. Stoeckinger officiating, and burial will be in the Shelby cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home, where Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He was born May 31, 1910, at Valparaiso, the son of John and Millie Novak Kubicek. On Jan. 28, 1942, he was married to Eileen May Nauenburg at St. Bonaventure church, Columbus, and they made their home on a farm on Rt. 1, Shelby.
Mr. Kubicek was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic church.
He is survived by his wife; one son, David; six brothers, John, jr., Alois and Edward of Columbus, Carl of Glendora Calif., Joseph and William of Shelby; and four sisters, Mrs. Leo (Mary) Glatter and Mrs. Herman (Rose) Gabel of Shelby, Mrs. James (Helen) Alt of Columbus and Mrs. Marvin (Lillian) Dawes of Osceola.
Preceding him in death were an infant daughter, his parents and one brother.KIRCHNER--Former Nebraska dies in California
Word was received here today of the death of a former Nebraska, Clifford Kirchner of Garden Grove, Calif. He formerly lived in the Petersburg and Clearwater areas.
Graveside rites will be at the Petersburg cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday with Levander Funeral Homme of Albion in charge.
Attending the services here will be his brothers, Charles, Leonard and John Kirchner, all of California.

KREIZINGER--Elsie Kreizinger dies; funeral services Saturday
Mrs. Elsie Kreizinger, 77, Bellwood, died Wednesday at McKeon Rest Home in Omaha. She had been in failing health the past 10 years.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic church at Bellwood, with Rev. Fr. G.C. Messman officiating, and burial will be in St. Peter's and St. Mary's cemetery.
The body will lie in state after 1 pm. Friday at McKown Funeral Home, where Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
She was born March 5, 1887, in St. Clair county, Mo., and was married to Louis Kreizinger in 1907 at Fremont. They resided in Sutherland, Cedar Rapids, and Spearfish, S.D., and moved to Bellwood in 1921.
Mrs. Kreizinger is survived by three sons, Oliver of Los Angeles, Calif., Carl of Chula Vista, Calif., and Leo of Indio, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Bernice) Zwiener of Columbus; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Chester (Florence) Hoffman of Riverside, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on Sept. 20, 1954; two sons, Walter and John; and her parents.

BISSON--Death Noted -- Word has been received here of the death of a former longtime Columbus resident, Mrs. Ethel Gossard Bisson, at Charles City, Ia., Thursday. Mrs. Bisson, who also lived in Fremont for several years, lived for about 30 years in Columbus, until the death of her husband Jesse H. Bisson in 1954, when she moved to northeast Iowa to be near her daughter, Mrs. Bruce Moser of Waucoma, Ia. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Fayette, Ia., with burial at 1 p.m. Monday in Blair.

KUTA--Andrew J. Kuta dies; services on Saturday
Andrew J. Kuta, 68, of Fort Mead, S.D., died Wednesday ata Veterans hospital in Fort Mead after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with Rev. Fr. Elstan Coghill officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery. The body will lie in state after 6 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home, where Rosary is to be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The son of John and Katherine Podraza Kuta, he was born Feb. 6, 1896, at Platte Center, and attended school there.
He was married to Agnes Juchter May 14, 1920, at St. Anthony's Catholic church northwest of Platte Center, and they farmed in the Platte Center area.
Mr. Kuta was a veteran of World War I, and the American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Surviving are a foster-son, George Schilz of Columbus; one brother, Charles G. Kuta of Columbus; and one sister, Mrs. L.E. Johnson of Shaker Heights, O.
He was preceded in death by his wife, in November, 1963; his parents and three brothers, Frank, John and Joseph.

BRUNKEN--Fred Brunken, 84, dies Saturday; funeral Tuesday
Fred Brunken, 84, Columbus, died Saturday afternoon at Madison. He had been ill the past two weeks.
The Rev. D. Lee Grace will officiate at funeral services, which will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral chapel here. Burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body now lies in state at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1880, in Platte county, the son of Diedrich and Sophie Meilahm Brunken. He attended rural school in Platte county.
A farm laborer, Mr. Brunken was a lifetime reisdent [sic] of this county. He was baptized in the Baptist church.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Mihulka of Columbus; a stepmother, Mrs. Theresa Brunken Chambre of Chicago; a half-brother, Walter Brunken, and half-sister, Mrs. LeRoy (Olga) Nelson, both of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brunken was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, August, Henry and John; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Kluever.
Memorials may be given to Behlen Memorial hospital.

KINSMAN--Claude Kinsman dies in Maryland
Word has been received of the death of Claude Kinsman, Chevy Chase, Md., on Jan. 29.
A member of a longtime Polk county famiy [sic], Mr. Kisman graduated from Columbus high school and the University of Nebraska. He also had an advanced degree from Purdue university.
After a time on the agricultural engineering faculty of both universities, he was employed in the Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children and grandchildren; and a brother, Ivan Kisman, Sun City, Ariz.
Burial was in West Lafayette, Ind.

BRUSE--Eunice Kilian Bruse dies in Sibley, Ia.
Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Eunice Kilian Bruse, 72, neice [sic] of Mrs. C.C. Sheldon, who collapsed and died while shoveling snow at her home in Sibley, Ia., Wednesday.
A daughter of the late Major and Mrs. J.N. Kilian, she was born in Columbus and lived here as a child. While residing here, her father served as Platte county judge and published a German newspaper, Nebraska Biene. He also organized the original Company K, serving with that unit in the Philippines during the Spanish-American War.
Mrs. Bruse is survived by her husband, George; two sons, John of Blair and George, jr., of Medford, Ore.; two grandsons, Charles and Stephen of Blair.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers, Dr. L.J. Kilian and Col. J.A. Kilian.
Funeral arrangements are pending.

BRODFUEHRER--Funeral services Wednesday for Mrs. Brodfuehrer
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Brodfuehrer, 94, former Columbus resident who died last Friday in Ventura, Calif., will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gass Funeral Home here.
The Rev. Dr. Henry Beatty will officiate, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home Wednesday until the hour of service.
She was born July 20, 1870, in Leo, Ind., the daughter of Frederick and Louise Deventer. She graduated from high school at Waterloo, Ind., and attended the University of Chicago.
Mrs. Brodfuehrer taught school for 10 years prior to her marriage to Bernhart V. Brodfuehrer on Aug. 19, 1901. Her last teaching post was in Elkhart, Ind.
She came to Columbus in 1916 and had since lived here and in Lincoln. Her husband died in March, 1923.
Mrs. Brodfuehrer was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dora Louise) Slothower of Dayton, O, and Mrs. Elmer (Bertha Margaret) Bratt of Bethlehem, Pa.; one grandchild and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and three brothers.BALL--Guy C. Ball, 79, dies; funeral services Thursday
Guy C. Ball, 79, longtime Columbus resident, died this morning at a Genoa nursing home where he had spent the past five months.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gass Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Henry Beatty officiating, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
He was born Feb. 25, 1885, in Butler county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ball The family moved to Columbus when Guy was a small boy and he attended Columbus schools.
Mr. Ball worked 14 years for the Independent Telephone Company, Columbus, and over 40 years for Glur Cement Works.
He was a former member of the Columbus fire department, and was in the National Guard many years ago.
Mr. Ball is survived by twin sisters, Mrs. Florence Black and Mrs. Flo Boyle of Grand Island; and a brother, Willie, of Columbus, He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

BAKENHUS--Funeral services for Elna Bakenhus on Thursday
Funeral services will be Thursday for Miss Elna Bakenhus, 48, of near Leigh. She died Sunday evening at Lutheran hospital following an automobile accident near Leigh earlier in the day.
The Rev. A.H. Guettler will officiate at 1:15 services at Gass Funeral Home and at Christ Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. The body will lie in state after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Sherman township, Platte County Sept. 15, 1916, the daughter of Oscar and Martha Otte Bakenhus, Miss Bakenhus attended District 23 and Christ Lutheran parochial schools.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran church where she was baptized and confirmed.
Surviving are her mother; two sisters, Esther and Arloa, of Leigh; four brothers, Walter, Orvis and Orden of Leigh and Ora of Marion, Iowa; and seven nieces and nephews.
Her father preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1964.
Burial will be in Christ Lutheran cemetery.JOSEPH--Funeral services for Frank Joseph, 72
Funeral services for Frank Joseph, 72, who died unexpectedly Sunday morning at his home in Pasadena, Calif., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Gass Funeral Home chapel.
The Rev. D. Lee Grace will officiate, and buial will be in Postville cemetery, The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Thursday.
He was born Nov. 24, 1892, at Postville, the son of Joseph and Rachel Kreiger Joseph. He attended grade school at Postville, and high school at Platte Center.
Mr. Joseph farmed in the Postville community, spent two years in Columbus, and 28 years ago moved to Pasadena. He was a Pasadena city employe.
He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Glen (Jennie) Drawbaugh of Columbus; and two nephews, Robert of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Harry Frey of Flagstaff, Ariz.
Mr. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William of Columbus and David, as a child; and an infant sister.

JACOBSEN--Mother Dies - W. O. Jacobsen received word of the death of his mother, Mrs. John Jacobsen of Tecumseh, Wednesday afternoon. She was hospitalized the past month with a broken hip.

JONES--Former Resident Dies - Word has been received that James E. (Tubby) Jones, a former Columbus resident, died of a heart attack Saturday at Casper, Wyo. Mr. Jones enlisted in the local National Guard unit, Company K, 6th Nebraska infantry, in World War I, and was later transferred to Company B of the 109th Supply Train, 34th Division where he saw service in the States and abroad. Upon his discharge from service, he homesteaded at Casper, Wyo., where he had since resided. Mr. Jones regularly attended the Company K reunions here, and was present at the 1964 reunion. Burial will be in Capser, according to word received by Martin Stenger.

BECHER--Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Becher on Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Becher, 69, of 1671 13th avenue, who died Monday, will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Gass Funeral Home chapel and at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran church.
The Rev. George Schubarth will officiate, and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial cemetery. The body will lie in state at Gass chapel from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service.
She was born April 17, 1895, in Creston township, the daughter of John and Gesina Wendt Depe. She was married to Herman Becher April 17, 1913, at St. John's Lutheran church by the Rev. Holm, and they made their home in Platte county. They moved to Columbus in 1938.
Mrs. Becher was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Women's Guild. She had also been affiliated with Immanuel Lutheran Country Ladies Aid, Immanuel Lutheran Sewing Circle, and Women's Missionary League.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Harry L. of Brownsville, Tex., A. Walter of Newman Grove and D. Albert of Cody, Wyo.; five daughters, Mrs. Godfrey (Lorena) Ditter of Monroe, Mrs. Keith (Marie) Rush of Omaha, Mrs. Duane (Alyce) Ernst and Mrs. William (Edythe) Bembry of Columbus, and Mrs. Glenn (Florence) Konrady of Bellevue; and 25 grandchildren.
Other survivors are two brothers, Adolph Depe of Page City, Kan., and Julius of Brewster, Kan.; and three sisters, Mrs. John C. Johannes and Mrs. Richard Janssen of Creston and Mrs. Theodore Lorenzen of El Reno, Okla.
Mrs. Becher was preceded in death by a son, Milton E., in 1955; one grandson; her parents, three brothers and one sister.
The famiy suggestes that memorials be directed to the Peace Lutheran building fund.

BROCK--Mrs. Anna Brock of Leigh dies, funeral Friday
Mrs. Anna Brock, 88, Leigh, died late Tuesday afternoon at Schuyler Senior Citizens Home. She had been ill since May.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran church near Leigh. The Rev. W.F.V. Churchill will officiate, and burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery. The body will lie in state at Gass Funeral Home Thursday after 11 a.m., and Friday at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
She was born Dec. 27, 1876, at Republican City, the daughter of William and Carolina Goedeken Schluntz. She attended school there.
On Nov. 16, 1897, she was married to Henry Brock at Republican City. After marriage they resided south of Leigh, in Platte county, on a farm near St. Paul's church. Mrs. Brock had resided in Leigh the last 18 years.
Mrs. Brock was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. She had been baptized and confirmed at Republican City.
Surviving are two sons, William of Creston and Alfred of Leigh; two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Clara) Kurpgeweit of Creston and Mrs. John (Minnie) Haussermann of Alma; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Henry Schluntz, and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Asche, both of Alma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1925; one son, Ernest of Leigh; one daughter, Mrs. Jake (Sophie) Schmidt of Leigh; and four brothers, Chris, William, August and Albert.

WEYHRICH--Death Reported -- Mrs. Henry Keller received word this morning of the death of her grand-niece, Katherine Weyhrich, age two and a half years, of Pierce. The little girl was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Weyhrich, and a niece of Mrs. Paul Wurdeman of Columbus, Carroll Morkert of Octavia, and Kenneth Morkert of Creston. KRZYCKI--John Krzycki, 86, dies Wednesday, services Friday
John Krzycki, 86, formerly of the Krakow community, died Wednesday at Genoa Haven.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Krakow, with Rev. Stefan Flisiak officiating, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
The body is to lie in state after 2 p.m. Thursday at Haney-Ramaekers Mortuary, Genoa, where Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
He was born July 7, 1878 in Poland, the son of Peter and Mary Banish Krzycki, and came to the Krakow community in Nebraska when four years of age.
Mr. Krzycki was married to Victoria Borowiak Feb. 22, 1904, at Krakow. They resided at Columbus until 1907, then went to the Krakow area. Mr. Krzycki was a farmer.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul church, Krakow.
Surviving are two sons, Joe of Silver Creek and Louis of Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. John (Barbara) Shotkoski of Genoa; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles and Tony of Genoa.
His wife died a few years ago. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie and Edwin.BORLAND--Borland funeral set here Friday
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McKown Funeral Home chapel for Virgil Milton Borland, 65, of 1166 12th avenue, who died Tuesday in the Omaha Veterans hospital.
The Rev. Ervin C. Basler will officiate, and Hartman Post 84, American Legion, will conduct military graveside rites in Columbus cemetery. Body will lie in state at the McKown chapel after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Borland was a veteran of World War I, serving in Company L., 31st Infantry, from Jan. 26, 1918 to Nov. 13, 1920. He served with the Expeditionary Forcces in Siberia.
Son of the late Hiram and May Bucher Borland, he was born at Tobias June 16, 1899 and later lived in Omaha, moving to Columbus 10 years ago. He operated a barber shop here until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Theo; two stepdaughters, Miss Beverly Gray of Omaha and Mrs. Marilyn Buresh of West Brook, Minn.; four brothers, Fred and Harold of Omaha, Hiram of Altadena, Cal., and Bill of Beatrice. Two daughters and one sister preceded him in death.

BIENZ--Death Reported -- Relatives and friends received word of the sudden death of E.A. Bienz, 82, of Portland, Ore., on April 9. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chris Bienz, Platte county pioneers, and lived in the Columbus area many years before moving to Oregon.JOSEPH--Former Columbus resident dies
A former Columbus resident, Walter Joseph, 64, died this morning in Madison, Wis., where he was hospitalized.
He was employed by Behlen Manufacturing company in Columbus and later taught in Lutheran parochial schools at Greeley, Colo., and Watertown, Wis.
Surviving are his wife, nine children and 2 grandchildren. The children are: Wilbur of Williamsburg, Ia.; Edwin, Jerry and Herb of Columbus; Mrs. Herb (Lorene) Morlok of David City; Louis, Walter and Mrs. William (Dolores) Timm of Watertown, Wis., and Jim of Milwaukee.
Messrs. and Mmes. Edwin, Jerry and Herb Joseph will leave Tuesday to Watertown to attend the funeral.

KUSH--John Kush, 71, Genoa, Nebr., was born September 1st, 1893, at Shelby, Nebraska, the son of Louis and Margaret Bogus Kush. He received his education in Polk County, Nebraska, where his parents were engaged in farming.
October 18, 1931, he was married to Mary Czarnick at Krakow, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. To this union six sons, and two daughters were born, six of whom survive. He is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons, Louis of Monroe; Alphonse of David City; Leonard at home; and Ray of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Rita) Osulfka, Columbus, and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Zakrzewski of Genoa; also twenty grand children. Two sons, his parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles Prorok, St. Edward; and Mrs. Edmund Vetick of Silver Creek; one brother, Tom Kush of Fullerton.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 19, at 9 o'clock from St. Peter and Paul Catholic church with the Rev. Father Flisak officiating.
Burial was in the Krakow Catholic cemetery. The Genoa American Legion Post conducted military services at the grave side. Color guard members were Wally Bosak, Boyd Snyder, Melvin Fox and Willard Krause. Firing squad were Henry Syslo, Donal Bayne, Jake Jernbert, Frank Pickett, Kenneth Reeg, Bill Parry, Victor Mark, and Allen Irish.

KLAUS--Jake Klaus, 79, dies here today, service Tuesday
Jake Klaus, 79, Duncan, died today at St. Mary's hospital.
Last rites will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic church, Duncan, with Rev. Fr. Richard Ciurej officiating, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Monday.
Born July 13, 1885, in Poland, Mr. Klaus was married to Mary Micek in June, 1912, in Chicago. They farmed near Silver Creek and Duncan.
Mr. Klaus was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Stanislaus church.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie J. Klaus of Bakersfield, Calif., and Joe of Lincoln; one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Stella) Tworek of Osceola; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His wife and parents preceded him in death.

BUGGI--Frank Buggi dies; funeral services on Tuesday
Frank Buggi, 84, who resided on Rt. 3 four miles west of Columbus, died Thursday evening at St. Mary's hospital. In failing health the past year, he had been seriously ill one week.
Funeral services will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure church, with Rev. Fr. Armand Lubanski officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
He was born Nov. 14, 1880, in Tarnov, Poland, the son of Jacob and Sophie Buggi, and was married to Mary Stachura at Duncan April 21, 1909.
A retired farmer, Mr. Buggi had resided on the same farm the past 55 years.
He was a member of St. Anthony's parish, and was the last surviving member of the group which made purchase of the land for St. Anthony's church.
Mr. Buggi served as a township justice of the peace and was on the District 3 school board. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
He is survived by two sons, Tony and Louis Buggi; two daughters, Misses Helen and Barbara Buggi; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, March 10, 1964; his parents; one brother and one sister.

BIALAS--Rites in Genoa Monday morning for Mrs. Bialas
Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Ann Bialas, 61, who died Thursday in St. Mary's hospital, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Rose of Lima Catholic church, Genoa, the Rev. J.D. Mines officiating.
Burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery, Columbus. The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Haney-Ramaekers mortuary in Genoa where Rosary will be prayed by the Altar Sodality at 3:30 p.m. Sunday and by relatives and friends at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Bialas, a resident of Genoa since 1957, formerly lived on farms in Merrick, Nance, Platte and Polk counties. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Altar Sodality.
Daughter of the late Peter and Mary Jarecki Czarnick, she was born July 23, 1903 at Duncan, and attended school there and at Fullerton.
She was married to Michael Bialas on July 5, 1931 at Krakow. He died in 1956 and a daughter, Cecilia, died in 1929.
Surviving are one daughter, Rose of Genoa; one brother, Charles Czarnick of Osceola; five sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Rose) Kantor and Mrs. Stanley (Vera) Cheloha of Omaha, Mrs. John (Minnie) Sokol, Mrs. Alvin (Ann) Tworek and Mrs. Fred (Amelia) Irwin of Columbus.

BRENNEMAN--Brenneman rites held in Norfolk
Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Brenneman, 68, of Norfolk, formerly of Columbus, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran church, Norfolk. Pastor Martin Russert officiated, with burial in Prospect Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Brenneman died last Tuesday at a Norfolk hospital, where she had been a patient since April 23.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Greiner, she was born Jan. 16, 1897, at Hanover, Kan. She married Walter Brenneman April 3, 1926, in Columbus, and they moved to Norfolk in 1948.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, James and Donald of Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Umphenour of Beatrice; two stepchildren, Mrs. Dorothy Olson and R.H. Brenneman of Council Bluffs, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Harry Williams, Columbus; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents and two brothers.

KUSEK--Funeral services held Thursday for Mrs. Helen Kusek
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Kusek, 77, of Artesia, Calif., who died May 29 at Bellflower, Calif., were held Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Ord. The Rev. Stanley Gorak officiated, and burial was in the Ord Catholic cemetery.
Pallbearers were Adrian Kusek, Leonard Ciochon, Clifford Flakus, John Knopik, Floyd Iwanski and Roland Zulkoski. Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at Hastings-Pearson Mortuary chapel.
Mrs. Kusek was born Jan. 14, 1888, in Atkinson, the daughter of Michael and Mary Kozial Flakus, and moved with her parents to Elyria, where she was married to John Kusek Feb. 12, 1912.
They resided in Burwell, Tarnov and Columbus until 1941, then moved to Portland, Ore., where Mr. Kusek died in 1952. Mrs. Kusek made her home in Portland with her daughter, and they moved to Artesia, Calif., in 1962.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Florence Kudron of Artesia, Calif., three grandsons, one granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. Frank Blaha of Ord, and a brother, Joseph Flakus of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

KONIK--Mrs. Eugenia Konik dies; funeral services Friday
Mrs. Eugenia Konik, 62, of 1173 18th Ave., died Wednesday at the Hoffmeister Rest Home at Genoa after a two-week illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic church with the Rev. Armand Lubanski, O.F.M., officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
The body now lies in state at the McKown Funeral Home where Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today by the parish and St. Theresa Sodality.
She was born Nov. 11, 1902 in Kurlandia, Latvia, the daughter of Michael and Agatha Krywko. She married Stefan Konik May 28, 1926 at Wilno, Poland and he preceded her in death in October of 1947.
She came to the United States Dec. 27, 1950 at New Orleans with a group of displaced persons. She spent some time in Lincoln with Father Collins before coming to Columbus where she worked in the kitchen at St. Mary's hospital and later at Jack's Cafe and Jackson Laundry.

HEBDA--Mrs. Anna Swircek Hebda, 78, of 654 25th avenue, died this morning in St. Mary’s hospital. She was seriously ill the last three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery. The Rev. Armand Lubanski will officiate. Rosary is scheduled at 8 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday.
Born in Poland Sept. 8, 1886, she was the daughter of Adam and Zofia Zajonc Warholoski. She was educated in Poland and there married Joseph Swirczek on July 6, 1905, later residing at Fullerton. Mr. Swirczek died Dec. 6, 1928.
After her marriage to John Hebda on June 2, 1929 she lived in Columbus. Mr. Hebda preceded her in death Jan. 4. 1958.
She was a member of St. Anthony parish.
Surviving are two sons, Julius Swirczek of Long Beach, Cal., and Ted Swirczek of Columbus; one daughter, Josephine Swirczek of Columbus; stepdaughter, Mrs. Joseph Wozny of Columbus; stepson, Frank Hebda of Santa Barbara, Cal; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, August and Fred Warholoski of Columbus and Kazimerz Warholoski of Poland.
Three children and a brother, Walter, preceded her in death.

BANDUR--Funeral services planned Monday for John Bandur
Funeral services for John Bandur, 76, Duncan, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic church in Duncan with burial in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Richard Ciurej will officiate.
The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at the McKown Funeral Home where Rosary is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Sunday for relatives and friends and at 8:30 p.m. for the Holy Name Society, of which he was a member.
Mr. Bandur died Friday in St. Mary's hospital after a short illness. A lifetime resident of Duncan, he was a trucker and farmer.
He was born Jan. 26, 1889, son of the late Bartholomew and Catherine Ryba Bandur, and attended the Duncan grade school.
On Oct. 2, 1912 in Duncan he married Stella Staniec, who survives him.
Also surviving are three sons, Louis J., Compton, Cal., Bernard F., Omaha, and Edward J., Long Beach, Cal.; three daughters, Anita C. Duster, Chicago, Dorothy M. Siegel, Burbank, Cal., and Helen Marie Keefer, Poplar, Mont; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Frank of Columbus, and Tony of Wyoming; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Torzon, Omaha, and Mrs. Minnie Stavas, Columbus.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph, two sisters, Sister M. Methodia and Mary Bandur, and stepfather, Joseph Nowicki.

JENSEN--Sigurd Jensen of St. Edward dies; rites Wednesday
ST. EDWARD--Sigurd Jensen, 67, lifetime resident of this area, died Sunday morning at his farm home. He had been ill since 1960.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rosenborg church, the Rev. John Johansen officiating, and burial will be in the Rosenborg cemetery with military graveside honors.
The body will lie in state at the family home after 4 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Jensen, a farmer and hog breeder, was born Aug. 2, 1898 on a farm southwest of Linsday. His parents were the late Christ and Anna Jensen. He was educated in the rural schools and served in the Navy during Wrld [sic] War I.
On June 11, 1924 he married Valborg Buhl at Rosenborg, and they lived in the Rosenborg and St. Edward communities.
He was a member of the Rosenborg church; Crosier Post 225 of the American Legion; a director of the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home at Newman Grove; a past member of the Co-op Elevator and had served on his district school board.
A big game hunter, he had a large trophy collection from Expeditions to Canada and Alaska.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Eugene of St. Edward and Keith of Seward; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Eunice) Mann of O'Neill; two brothers; Edgar of Newman Grove and Clifford of St. Edward; three sisters Mrs. Roy (Dagny) Appel of Solvang, Cal., Mrs. Hilbert (Ruby) Swanson of Iowa, Mrs. Mildred Haahr, and a number of grandchildren. An infant sister preceded him in death.

KERR--Funeral services set Friday for Mrs. Frank Kerr
Funeral services for Mrs. Frank (Thelma) Kerr, 61, of Rt. 2, Bellwood, who died Tuesday in a Norfolk hospital, will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic church south of Columbus.
Rev. Msgr. John B. Ebel of Colorado Springs, Colo., brother of the deceaed, will officiate, and burial will be in St. Peter's and St. Mary's cemetery, Bellwood. The body is to lie in state at McKown Funeral Home from 1 p.m. Thursday to the hour of service, and rosary will be prayed at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.
She was born April 28, 1904, in Oregon, the daughter of John B. and Antonia C. Jacob, and attended St. Francis academy in Columbus.
On Feb. 18, 1929, she was married to Frank Kerr at St. Bonaventure church here, and they resided in the Columbus and Bellwood area.
Mrs. Kerr was a member of St. Joseph's church and the Altar Society, and formerly served as church organist.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Gene, of Chatham, Ontario, Canada; three daughters, Mrs. Dean (Virginia) Horner of Sioux City, Mrs. Wilbert (Patricia) Thiele of Columbus and Miss Kathleen Kerr of Bellwood; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Msgr. John B. Ebel of Colorado Springs; and one sister, Mrs. Dan (Kathryn) Malone of Denver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Frank, jr.; and one sister, Devota Elizabeth, in infancy.

BROOKS--Robert Brooks dies, services on Wednesday
Robert Brooks, Columbus high school teacher, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon in St. Mary's hospital where he has been a patient since last Tuesday. He would have been 62 today.
Funeral services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with the Rev. Elstan Coghill officiating. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. today at the Gass Funeral Home where the body lies in state. Burial will be at Montgomery, Ohio.
A native Nebraskan, Mr. Brooks was born Aug. 31, 1903 at Gordon and was brought up at Rushville. After earning a law degree at the University of Nebraska, he practiced in David City and in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was also an insurance claimsman. He worked for Wright Aeronautics during World War II.
Following the death of his wife, Mr. Brooks returned to the University of Nebraska where he earned a Bachelor's degree in education and Master's degree in education in 1958. He was a member of the Columbus high staff the last nine years, principally as an American history teacher.
He was a member of the Columbus Education Association, National Education Association, American Bar Association, Nebraska Bar Association, Knights of Columbus and St. Bonaventure parish.
Surviving are his son, James of Palm Springs, Cal., and three sisters, His parents preceded him in death.

BEAVER--John Beaver, former state senator, dies
John E. Beaver, 69, of 2809 14th street, former speaker of the Nebraska Legislature, died Monday at St. Mary's hospital.
Mr. Beaver had been a resident of Columbus since 1961, and was a lobbyist for the Loup River Public Power District from 1961 to 1964.
He represented the 12th legislative district in the unicameral from 1951 to 1959, and was elected speaker for the 1957 session. Mr. Beaver was named administrative assistant to Gov. Dwight Burney in 1960.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at First Methodist church in Columbus, with the Rev. Lowell Jones, D.D. officiating, and at 2 p.m at the Congregational church in Scribner with the Rev. D.. Bosworth in charge. Burial will be in Pebble cemeteary [sic] at Scribner.
The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 27, 1896, at Scribner, the son of James and Cora Putnam Beaver, and attended school there. He served in the Navy in World War I.
Mr. Beaver was married to Adele Hargens of Scribner Oct. 10, 1922, at Omaha. They resided at Scribner until moving to Beemer in October, 1933. He was a merchant there until his retirement, and served as the town's mayor for three terms.
Long active in Masonic affairs, Mr. Beaver was affiliated with A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Shriners. His term as grand master of the Nebraska Masons in 1959 prompted him to retire from the legislature.
A member of the American Legion, he was a past post commander.
Mr. Beaver was affiliated with the Congregational church at Scribner, and the Methodist church at Beemer and Columbus.
Surviving are his wife and one brother, Harry Beaver of California. His parents and a brother, E. Fay Beaver, preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walter (Rose) Brandfas, 68, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church.

Mrs. Brandfas died suddenly Saturday in Florence, Ariz., where she was residing with a son, Dale.
The daughter of Fred and Emma Saalfeld Schwantje, she was born Dec. 7, 1896 at Bissell, Neb. She was educated in Columbus schools.
She was married to Walter F. Brandfas in December, 1921. They resided in Colorado a few years, and then came to Columbus. They moved to Arizona in 1952.
Surviving are three sons, Dale of Florence, Ariz., James D. of Omaha and Richard of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, William F. and Albert (Red) Schwantje of Columbus; and four sisters, Mrs. F.R. (Emma) Gorham of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. J.D. (Irene) Rohrbough, Miss Alyce Schwantje and Miss Hilda Schwantje, all of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in May, 1954; a daughter, Donnella, in 1944; one brother, and four in infancy.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the cancer fund or the church building fund.

Mr. Bator, who had been ill the past year, died Monday in St. Mary's hospital.
He was a letter carrier for the postal department and had served as secretary of the Letter Carriers Union.
A lifetime resident of Columbus, he was born here Oct. 27, 1909, the son of Joseph and Sophia Stanczyk Bator. He attended the public schools, graduating from Columbus high. On Sept. 22, 1936 he married Ann Sobush at St. Anthony Catholic church.
During World War II he served in the Army from March 17, 1944 until Jan. 4, 1946 as a member of the 251st Quartermaster Company, 71st Division. He was discharged as a staff sergeant.
Mr. Bator was a member of the American Legion, St. Anthony parish and Holy Name society. He was a past member of the Columbus Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Judie) Johnson of Omaha; two sons, Jim and Ken of Columbus; two brothers, Ted of Columbus and Cecil of York; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Kearns of Greybull, Wyo., and Mrs. Val Huntington of Manhattan Beach, Cal.
His parents, sister, Wilma, and brother, Steven, preceded him in death.

BROWN--Ralph E. Brown, former Columbus resident, dies
Ralph Ellis Brown, 64, Omaha, former Columbus resident, died Saturday night at St. Joseph hospital in Omaha after a long illness.
Final rites will be conducted by the Rev. Arthur Detwiler at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gass Funeral chapel, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body is now lying in state at the funeral home.
The son of Ellis G. and Rose Belle Phillips Brown, he was born Dec. 4, 1900, at Humphrey. He attended the University of Nebraska two years.
Mr. Brown was married to Ilo Mae Brown Aug. 25, 1925, at Council Bluffs. They had resided the past 35 years in Omaha, where he was station auditor for Union Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Trans-Missouri Passenger club.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Richard W. of Omaha, two daughters, Mrs. A.L. (Eileen) Meyer of Omaha and Mrs. Guy L. Funeral services for Gideon Braun, 79, who died unexpectedly Tuesday night at his home, 1052 21st avenue, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
Pastor A.R. Detwiler will officiate, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery. Body lies in state at the Gass Funeral Home until noon Friday, then at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.
A resident of this community most of his life, Mr. Braun taught school for seven years, farmed 26 years and was employed by Loup Power District for 17 years.
He was a graduate of Columbus high school and Wayne State college.
Born April 23, 1886 at Malmo, he was a son of the late Rev. John B. and Renee Nicholet Braun.
He married Bertha Glur on June 12, 1916 at her home in Columbus, and she survives him. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John (Helen Elaine) Schack of Kearney and two grandchildren, Gregory and Sheralyn.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Seth and Sam, and two infant sisters.
Mr. Braun was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, and the family suggests that memorials be given to St. Luke's memorial fund.

KINNAN--Jessie A. Kinnan dies, services 2 p.m. Saturday
Funeral services for Miss Jessie A. Kinnan of Columbus, who died Wednesday at Dodge County Community hospital in Fremont, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gass Funeral chapel.
The Rev. Martin Braun of Shelby will officiate, and entombment will be in the family mausoleum at the Columbus cemetery. The body lies in state until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Miss Kinnan was born in Illinois, daughter of Martha Jennie and Joseph R. Kinnan, and came to Nebraska with her parents in 1874. She received her education at Osceola and Fremont Normal college and taught school for a number of years in Nebraska.
With her mother and sister, Charlotte, Miss Jesse [sic] Kinnan moved from the family farm in Polk county, near Shelby, in 1908 to her present home in Columbus.
Miss Kinnan was active in managing her farms, and was interested in geology. She was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, and was affiliated with the United Brethren church at an early age.
She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mattie, Alberta, Alice and Charlotte, and brothers Spencer and Joseph.

BORDY--Nathan Bordy, former Columbus resident, dies
Nathan Bordy, 77, former Columbus resident, died Saturday in Los Angeles, Cal.
Mr. Bordy was a brother of Louis Bordy, who flew to Los Angeles to attend funeral services which were held at 2 p.m. today. The late Mr. Bordy had resided at 4100 Palmwood drive, Los Angeles.
He formerly operated stores here and in Genoa. His Columbus store is now the Irene Shop.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; two sons, Dick of Los Angeles and Donald of Sioux City, Ia.; and one daughter, Mrs. Dave (Dorothy) Selsky of Washington, D.C.

Funeral services for Francis I. Kemnitz, 71, of 1702 20th street, who died Wednesday at St. Mary's hospital after a three weeks illness, will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bonaventure church.

Born April 4, 1894, in St. Mary's Kan., he was the son of John and Helen Schrepher Kemnitz. He attended parochial school and St. Mary's college.
Mr. Kemnitz was married to Genevieve Regan June 2, 1920, at St. Joseph's church, Platte Center.
A retired custodian, he had spent 20 years in the U.S. post office.
Mr. Kemnitz was a veteran of World War I, having served from June, 1817, to June, 1919. He was overseas with the 353rd Infantry, 89th Division, and saw service in the St. Mihiel and Mesue Argonne battles.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Richard Kemnitz, Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. William R. (Betty Mae) Brock of Omaha and Mrs. Albert (Emogene) Wunderlich of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Clark of Miami, Fla.
Mr. Kemnitz was preceded in death by two infant daughters; his parents; three brothers and four sisters.

The son of Anton and Mary Dula Wass, he was born July 29, 1890, in Columbus, and attended St. Francis academy here. He was married to Helen Bonk in February, 1925, at St. Anthony church, and they made their home here.
Mr. Wass was a painter and interior decorator.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving in a medical unit, and was affiliated with the American Legion. He was a charter member of the Eagles Lodge, and also belonged to the Izaak Walton League.
Mr. Wass was a charter member of St. Anthony's church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Helen) Wielgus, Columbus; nine grandchildren; one brother, Frank, Columbus; two sisters, Miss Celia Wass of Columbus and Mrs. D. M. (Josephine) Cody of Wichita, Kan.

Funeral services for George O. Blawat, 65, of Rt. 2, Columbus, will be at 1:30 p.m Thursday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ. The Rev. A.R. Detwiler will officiate, with burial in Columbus cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Gass Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until 11:30 a.m. Thursday, then at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
Mr. Blawat died unexpectedly Monday morning en route to a local hospital. He was a farmer, residing north of Columbus all his life.
His parents were the late Otto and Mary Meier Blawat. He was born July 30, 1900 in Bismark township, Platte county, and attended District 10 school.
Surviving are one sister, Miss Margaret Blawat, and an aunt, Mrs. Otto (Minnie) Plugge, Columbus.

BOETTCHER--Marie Boettcher dies this morning, funeral Friday
Mrs. Edward J. (Marie Helene) Boettcher, 60, of 1462 1/2 28th avenue, died this morning at Lutheran hospital. She had been ill the past year.
There will be a prayer service at 10 a.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home, followed at 10:30 a.m by funeral services at Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. B.F. Meschke will officiate, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The daughter of Heinrich and Katherine Walter Sjoberg, she was born March 13, 1905, in Buer, West Germany, and attended high school and business college. She came to the United States in 1922, and resided briefly in Iowa and Lincoln before coming to Columbus.
She was married to Arthur D. Barnes March 11, 1923. He died Feb. 25, 1946. They had one son, Carl (Charley) Barnes.
On Oct. 25, 1950, she was married to Edward J. Boettcher. He survives, in addition to one grandson, William E. Barnes of Northridge, Cal.; brother, Carl, of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters in Germany; Mrs. Flora Sjoberg, Spokane, Wash, a sister-in-law.
Mrs. Boettcher was preceded in death by her first husband; son, Carl, who died Nov. 26, 1962; parents; one brother.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church.

BURZYNSKI--W. S. Burzynski dies, rites Wednesday Walter S. Burzynski, 68, of 2822 8th street, former Columbus city councilman and Platte county supervisor, died Sunday at St. Mary's hospital. In poor health the past six years, he had been hospitalized four weeks.
Solemn High Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony church, with Rev. Fr. John Kent Burzynski, O.F.M., son of the deceased, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery.
The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home, where rosary is to be prayed at 7:30 p.m. by the Holy Name Society and at 8 p.m. by the general public.
Mr. Burzynski was born Aug. 2, 1897, the son of Mathias and Catherine Torczon Burzynski, who farmed seven miles east of Columbus. He attended St. Francis academy here.
On Nov. 20, 1922, he was married to Sophie Jazwiec. They resided in Havelock, where Mr. Burzynski was a railroad employee, until returning to Columbus in 1924.
Mr. Burzynski, a retired postal employee, was a councilman from Second Ward from April, 1961, to April, 1963. He had served on the county board of supervisors from 1957 to 1960.
He served in the Army, and was discharged May 27, 1921, at Camp Mead, Md., after being in Headquarters Company, 5th Engineers. He was also in the National Guard with the 130th Collecting Company, 110th Medical Regiment.
Mr. Burzynski had been affiliated with the American Legion and Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was on the state rifle team competing at Camp Perry, Ohio in 1938, 1939 and 1940.
A Roman Catholic, Mr. Burzynski was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Fr. John Kent Burzynski, O.F.M., Cleveland, O.; five daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Phillips, Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Gloria Daughtry, Mrs. Rita Boesiger and Mrs. Rosalie Begley of Omaha, and Mrs. Jane Langan of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; and five sisters, Mrs. Polly Jazwiec of Bellwood, Mrs. Mary Rozmus and Mrs. Vera Pfeifer of Columbus, Mrs. Ann Krzycki of Genoa, and Mrs. Margaret Fort of Ventura, Calif.
Mr. Burzynski was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his parents; stepfather, Felix Zakrewski; brothers, Peter and Frank; and sisters, Julia Czarnik, his twin, Catherine, at two years, and Katherine.

BECHER--Charles Becher of Grand Island dies
Charles W. Becher, 79, former resident, died Friday in a Grand Island hospital.
Mr. Becher, a painting contractor for a number of years, was a native of Columbus and went from Hastings to Grand Island 35 years ago.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the graveside in West Lawn Memorial Park of Grand Island, with the Rev. Wayne Reid officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie; and sisters, Mrs. W.H. Heuer of Hastings, Mrs. Lottie Washburn, Mrs. Marguerite Elias and Mrs. Katherine Newman of Omaha.

BURZYNSKI--Services held for Walter Burzynski
Funeral services for Walter S. Burzynski, 68, former Platte county supervisor and Columbus city councilman, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's church.
Rev. Fr. John Kent Burzynski, O.F.M., of Cleveland, son of the deceased, was celebrant at the Solemn Requiem Mass, with Rev. Fr. Richard Swolek, deacon, and Rev. Fr. Miles Kowskie, sub-deacon. Rev. Fr. Armand Lubanski delivered the sermon.
Other priests present were the Rev. Frs. Felix Greiner, Ladislas Siekaniec, Francis Long, Leigh Leenerts, Celsus Jeske, John Joseph Lakers, Richard Wolbach, Wendolin, Elstan Goghill, Edgar Bockenfeld, Bryant, Roland and Frater Ivan Wemhoff.
Burial was in St. Bonaventure cemetery. Pallbearers were John Jazwick, Frank Sliva, Edmund Rozmus, William Krzycki, Alois Jazwiec and Charles Hanzel. Honorary pallbearers and representing the Columbus Fire Department were Marvin Nelson, Glenn Smith, Albert Krumland, Mike Novicki, Adam Marsolek, Harvey Roth, Charles Haney and Willis Krumland.
Military graveside rites were performed by the honor guard of Hartman Post No. 84, American Legion, with Keith Bryan as sergeant. Members of the color guard were Ernst Ewert, Roy Bargmann, Lewis Johnson and William Schwntje, and members of the escort were Bill Putnam, Bill Bates, Jim Gregorius, Vernon Beckmann, Larry Lassek and Jim Lippstreu. Leo Locher assisted.
Out of town relatives and friends were from Bloomington, Ill., Sioux City, Omaha, Lincoln, Elyria, Cedar Rapids, Fremont, St. Paul, Bellwood, Duncan, Silver Creek, Clarks, St. Edward, Fullerton, Genoa, Humphrey, Platte Center and Tarnov.

BRANDT--Funeral services set Thursday for Mrs. Wilma Brandt
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the McKown Funeral Home for Mrs. Wilma A. Brandt, 64, of 2504 15th street, who died unexpectedly Monday in St. Mary's hospital.
She was a resident of Columbus most of her life and was a bookkeeper for the Jeffreys Accounting company.
The Rev. Harold B. Taylor will officiate, with burial in Columbus cemetery. Body will lie in state at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Brandt was born March 21, 1901 at Fairfield, the daughter of Herman and Nellie Stump Ronzzo. She was married to David F. Brandt on Dec. 27, 1918 at Lincoln.
A member of the Order of Eastern Star, she once held the office of secretary.
Surviving are three sons, LeRoy of Santa Monica, Cal., Richard of Fort Riley, Kan., and Gerald of Columbus; one daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Imogene) Nyffeler of Duncan; her mother, Mrs. Herman Ronzzo of Burwell; one brother, Virgil Ronzzo of Burwell; two sisters, Mrs. Violet Adams of Sargent and Mrs. Juanita Lamb of Burwell; and 13 grandchildren. Her father and two brothers preceded her in death.
