Mrs Curt Hollingshead returned from Columbus Wednesday. ... C.A. Gerrard and wife of Lindsay spent Sunday in Monroe. ... Robert Saley the piano man was in Monroe on Saturday. ... Mr McNeil the painter has gone east for a visit. ... Mr Geo. Smith was down from Fullerton on Saturday; he reports all well with the family. ... D.W. Zeigler and daughter Miss May were in Columbus Saturday between the trains. ... Mrs Max Miller from north of Columbus is visiting friends in Monroe last week. ... Mrs E. Cole is receiving a visit from her mother Mrs Smith of Kewanee Ills. ... Mrs Ruth Kenyon returned home Tuesday from her eastern trip. ... C.W. Zeigler came up with his automobile yesterday; it looks neat, and Charles enjoys it. ... Mrs Marshall McWilliams was visiting Mrs Stella Lightner the first of the week. ... Ward Ladd had quite a serious accident Tuesday; he fell between two freight cars and received several painful brusies. ... Isaiah Lightner was taken quite sick last Friday night; we are glad to learn that he is out again, but not fully recovered. ... Last week F.K. Strother became the proprietor of the Thurston home in Monroe, and also the Croshaw place east of town. In the deal Thurston gets a farm near Primrose. ... Gerrad & Nailor have applied for a patent on their process for whitening flour; they have stgruck a bonanza it seems. Their process meets with large approval by the experts. ...
