NOTES: Direct descendant of Balthasar HENGGELER, who was born in the late 1500's, Oberaegeri, Canton Zug, Switzerland. The Henggeler family and name, has been well documented to the Aegeri Valley area of Canton Zug, Switzerland, this smaller of Switzerland's Cantons, and in particular, to the towns of both Unteraegeri and Oberaegeri, Switzerland.
Franz's Naturalization: 1854, Dubuque County, Iowa.
Settled Shell Creek, Platte County, Nebraska homestead around 1858. The Henggeler homestead (see Photo in Photograph section) was located on upper Shell Creek, eight miles north of Columbus, Bismark Township, Platte County, Nebraska. Franz and his family farmed their owned property, including the raising of stock, maintaining a fruit orchard and, for many years, manufacturing of Swiss Cheese from the basement of their home. His was one of the first brick homes in the area.
