ST. BONAVENTURE CHURCH CONFIRMANDS - 1888

Started in the Straight and Narrow Path.

    On Sunday, Bishop James O'Connor, of Omaha, held confirmation services at St. Bonaventura (Catholic) church in this city, at which there were forty-three children received into the church.

    Father Pacificus Kohnen, who is at the head of the Monastery in this city, said High Mass at 10 o'clock a.m., immediately after which the confirmation service by Bishop O'Connor was commenced. After the confirmation ceremonies, Bishop O'Connor preached an able and eloquent sermon.

    Upon the arrival of Bishop O'Connor in this city on Saturday evening, he was met at the depot by a large delegation of prominent Catholic citizens and a brass band, and was escorted to a carriage which was in waiting, and driven to the Monastery in state. The vehicles in the procession were handsomely decorated with flowers.

    The young people who were received in the fellowship of the church were:
