Funeral of Chas. Roeske

The funeral of Chas. Roeske, who died last Thursday at his home four miles west of Foster, occurred last Saturday afternoon at the Congregational church, Rev. Geo. E. Taylor preaching the sermon and a choir from the church furnishing appropriate music.  The remains were tenderly laid away in Prospect View Cemetery by comrades of the Pierce and Plainview Posts, G.A.R.

The deceased was one of our substantial farmers and respected by all who knew him for his honesty and integrity.  He served three of the best years of his life in the service of his country in the civil are and took great interest in the Grand Army of the Republic.  In politics he was an unswerving republican and a great admirer of Lincoln, Garfield, Grant, McKinley and other great Republican leaders.  He leaves a wife, son and granddaughter to mourn his taking away.
