The apple processing shed on the Beard farm. Joseph Beard is shown third from third from left. Joseph Clary is shown fourth from left. Joseph Beard moved his family to Brownville in 1854. He was a pre-territorial "free-holder" and one of Nemaha County's earliest pioneers.
