He was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Sunol, Neb., to Melvin and Ruth (Schlessman) Jackson, and was one of 11 children. In 1941 he married Ida Laura Cator and they had their first home on River Road in Raymond. In 1959 they moved to Medford, Ore. He then moved to Long Beach in 1978 and in 1982 married Zoe Colson. They made their home in Long Beach. Survivors include a daughter, Dyanne Rotta of Chewelah and a son, Tom (Marilyn) Jackson of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Eunice (Bob) Beck of Raymond, Irene (Walt) Smith of Raymond, Dolores Hansen of Winlock and Alice (Ray) Thompkins of Salem, Ore.; a brother, Jerry (Wanda) Jackson of Long Beach; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was proceded in death by brothers Nelson, Clyde and Clifford, two sisters Lena and Viola and by his wife Zoe in 2005.
