Gable of rural Waverly were held Monday, March 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Waverly. Gable died Tuesday, March 12. She was 77. Born in Lincoln to Peter John and Katherine (Schafer) Reifschneider, Gable was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waverly. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Gable of Waverly; daughters, Linda Fox with special friend, John Coleman of Lincoln, and Patricia Gable of Denver, CO; grandsons and spouse, Doug and Jami Gable, Darin and Jasmine Gable all of Waverly and Jeremy Fox of Lincoln; two great-granddaughters, Mercedes Lynn Gable and Brianna Faith Gable of Waverly; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, parents, and daughter, Doriann Jane. The Rev. Dr. James Brewer officiated at the service. Burial was at Rosehill Cemetery in Lincoln. Evert Neil GARDINER, age 82, of Lincoln passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008. He was born in Ainsworth, NE on June 23, 1925, to Ralph and Opal (Homan) Gardiner. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #3, and Eastern Star. A past Master Mason Scottish Rite, U.S. Navy Veteran and member of the Armed Guards. He was a retired truck driver for Safeway Stores and member of the Teamster Union. She was born May 14, 1921, in Lincoln, Neb., to Earl and Rose McGibbon. She resided in the San Marcos, Calif., area since 1987. She earned a bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University in 1974. She worked in distribution for Columbia Pictures from 1945-1960, then was a special administrative assistant for the City of Los Angeles Public Works Dept., until she retired after 26 years. Her favorite pastime was being a world traveler, accompanied by her husband, William. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and her stepson, James. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Goldie, Jr. in 2004. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Mt. She and her family moved to Southwest Portland where she attended Capitol Hill Elementary and Lincoln High School. Sharon married Curtis Guthrie, and they moved to Newport for their first teaching assignments. Sharon is survived by her husband, Curtis Guthrie; son, Scott Guthrie; daughter, Joan Guthrie Medlen; and four grandchildren.
