Iva Cunningham 1915-2008 Bob Cunningham was born April 24, 1915 in Nebraska. Iva Miller was born six months later in Washington. Bob and Iva both attended the University of Nebraska, but met during summer break when Iva's mother ran the switchboard in Waterloo, Neb. They married Dec. 7, 1935. Bob and Iva, with Iva's mother, moved to Portland in 1937. Bob helped build Liberty Ships during the war and repaired ships after it ended. Bob and Iva were married 67 years before Iva died in 2002. Bob is survived by his sons, Jerry and Mick; daughter, Kathy Baker; sister, Myrna; six granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren. A gathering was held at Bob's house May 10 to celebrate his life.
