Prominent Minden Man Dies.
Minden, Neb. Oct. 14, (Special to the Kearney Hub)—L. A. Dasher, 66, prominent in political and business circles here, died yesterday. He was a former mayor and business man of Minden and director of the Census for the fourth congressional district. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon.

Campbell resident, 81

Campbell - Mildred A. Deering, 81 of Campbell died Saturday June 28, 2003 at Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Campbell.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Campbell with the Rev. William Caughey officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery southwest of Campbell.
Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell Funeral Home and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
She was born April 5, 1922 in Campbell to Emil and Clara (Troester) Bartels.
On Oct. 14, 1944 she married Chester Deering in Glendale, Calif.
They lived in California until 1959 when they moved to Clearfield, Utah.
They retired in 1974 and moved to Campbell.
She was a member of the church, the Altar Guild, the LWML and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 169, all of Campbell.
Survivors include her husband; brothers, Harlen Bartels and Marvin Bartels, both of Campbell; and Gerald Bartels of Franklin and sister, Leona Greim of Imperial.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.

Norvin Dorn
Minden resident, 73

Omaha - Norvin E. Dorn, 73, of Minden died Saturday July 5, 2003 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Omaha.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Layton Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Jerry Classen officiating. Burial will be at Minden Cemetery with military rites by Minden American Legion Post 94.
Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Minden.
He was born Nov. 24, 1929 in Hildreth to Eilert and Elizabeth (Sanders) Dorn.
The family moved to Oregon in 1940. He returned to the Minden area in the late 1940s.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War.
On Sept. 19, 1954 he married Jenene Davis. They lived and farmed in the Minden area. He also did custom harvesting in the Minden and Gibbon areas for many years.
They moved to Minden in 1990.
He was a former member of the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church near Minden.
He enjoyed work on the farm, cattle, fixing machinery, farm sales and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife; sons Tony of Minden and Russell of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter Connie Bliss of Lincoln; sisters Edna Williams of Axtell and Ethel Larsen of Minden; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
