SPUD JONES ENDS FURLOUGH
Willis Ray (Spud) Jones terminated a 30 day furlough Sunday night. He went to Omaha where he will be reassigned. He hopes to be released soon but so far the hopes seem very vague. Spud spent his “vacation” at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jones, and managed to take in a few basket ball games while here.
RICHARD WARP AT MAYOS
Friends of Richard Warp, of Chicago, will be interested to know that he has been transferred from the Veteran’s hospital at Great Lakes to Mayo’s at Rochester, Minnesota. He is not improving as rapidly as could be wished. Richard is the youngest son of Ed Warp of Chicago and has been in the homeland only a few months after seeing heavy action in the South Pacific where he contracted malaria.
CLOTHESPIN RUSH
Would you believe that Arlo’s Hardware sold three hundred dozen clothespins in three hours? They did. Recently they had just that many, and it took that short of time to get rid of them. Looks like Minden housewives need clothespins.
