Located in the NE1/4 of Section 35 in Kingsburg
Township in Stanton County
Recorded 8 May 1981 by Lois E. Schultz
This cemetery is also known as Scherer/Schulz Cemetery and District 14 School Cemetery. When an epidemic of diphtheria hit this area it was said wagons came from many directions, bringing their dead to be buried. They would wait on the road until the one ahead was finished so they wouldn't contact the illness from them. District #14 school was built where the Schwedt Post Office was located just west of the cemetery. It was restored in 1995 by Stanton County Pioneer Cemetery Association, relatives of the ancestors buried here and concerned friends.
