Doing research on Bruno J Peters, born in Hanover, Germany. He and wife
Hattie Jannsen were married in Hanover and came to the US 1881. According
to census, I find John Peters (their 1st child) was born 9-18-1881 in West
Point, Neb. They had 6 children born in West Point, then they went to Okla
in 1892, and 2 children born there. Does anybody have info on this family.

I have found an early phot of a woman holding a baby in what appears to
be a large town square. Behind them is a store with a large sign that reads "ELKHORN
MEAT MARKET". The building to the left is 2 stories and is "something Bank".
There is a very tall pole of some sort, higher than the bank, in front of it.
My ancestors were from NE and I am trying to date the photo to identify the people.
Do you have any ideas? I could scan and send the photo if it might help.

John VanAuker
VanAuker, George W. b. 4JAN1846, MI. d. 27APR1927, BeeMer, bd. Beemer Cem.,
Lot 94. Pvt, Co. G, 12th MI Inf. George is the father of John Irwin VanAuker,
father of Dallas VanAuker, father John VanAuker (me) father of Scott VanAuker.
George, John Irwin and Dallas are all buried in the Beemer Cemetery. I am finding
it very difficult to find where George came from. What does your abbreviation
behind his birthdate stand for? (MI) Michigan? and again in the company he served
in (12th Michigan (?) Infantry. If that is what it is it would help me quite
a bit. It is the first clue I've found about where he came from. Your help appreciated.
