Johann Conrad Hirschmann was born March 21st, 1826, at Altdorf, Bavaria; married in 1857; followed the trade of furrier in his home town until 1874, then moved to West Point, Neb., with his family; in 1875 moved to Omaha; resided there until 1879. After visiting Germany with his wife, again removed to West Point in the same year, where he resided with his family until his death. Twelve children were born to them, seven sons having died in infancy. His wife Marie, and two sons Christian and Andrew and three daughters Rosa, (wife of Jacob Haefflin), Johanna and Kate are the survivors. Mr. Hirschmann lived to be 72 years, 4 months and 15 days old.
