Thomas Bradley Executive Vice President and Cashier of the Bank of Leigh has announced that Charles Mullenhoff will be joining the staff at the bank.--Leigh WorldCharles, 40, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mullenhoff of Columbus, is married and has three children. He was born and raised on a farm two miles west of Leigh. He attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Leigh High School in 1950.--Leigh World
Reva Burger was admitted to the Behlen Community Hospital, Columbus, following a fall while climbing over a wooden gate at the Eldon Hart farm. She broke her right arm in three places and returned home Tuesday. Reva is a fifth grader at the Leigh Community School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Burger.--Leigh World
Mrs. Melvin Kuester, West Point, who has operated a cornpicker for harvest each year of the last 12, had a picker clogged with something different Friday. A 16-pound porcupine got caught in the snapping rollers. Although porcupines are rare around her now, they knew there was a least one about as the day before they had to remove 20 quills from their dogs.--Leigh World
About 75 gathered at the American Legion Hall, Saturday night for the open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. George Urban on their 26th wedding anniversary. The event was hosted by their son, Dean, Robert, Kenneth and Calvin. Mrs. Dale Pillen of Platte Center registered the guests and Lana Schroeder opened the gifts.
A floral bouquet in fall colors centered the serving table.--Leigh WorldElda Mae Muhle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto K. Muhle and George Urban, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Urban of Clarkson, were married Nov. 18, 1947 at St. Paul's Church parsonage by the Rev. J. A. Bahnsen. The Urbans have resided on a farm south east of Leigh their entire married life. They have four sons.--Leigh World
