Frank Detrich is the name of a young man who arrived here direct from Bohemia, the land of his birth. He had friends here who had written him of the splendid opportunities in this land of the free and he determined to come and see for himself.
Word has been received of the death at Stanton of Jack Murray. The deceased is known to many here as he worked for several years at his trade as a carpenter. The remains were taken to Plattsmouth for burial.
Joseph Urbanek, who for the past year and a half has been making his home in western South Dakota, returned to Clarkson. For two years scarcely any crops have been raised in the section of the state where he has resided and the farmers there are much discouraged. The chances are that our young friend will again take up his residence in Nebraska.
E. F. Kutin commenced laying the foundation for a good sized residence that Jos. Kastanek will have built on the 5 acre tract of land owned by him in Wolf's addition to Clarkson.
Messrs. Thos. Z. Zacek and Bohumil Bikacek and Misses Anna Jirovec, Mayme Shonka, Eleanor Cech, Emma Krula, Bertha Bukacek, Olive Eggleston, Marie Kouba, Henrietta Bukacek and Rosie Severa were among the teachers from Clarkson who attended the Teachers' association meeting at Leigh. They report an attendance of thirty-three and a very interesting meeting.
