The Colfax County Press publishes a weekly column entitled Peeking into the Past, which is comprised of articles taken from earlier Colfax County Press files, written by Helen C. Evans. July 11, 1905 - reprinted November 19, 1980John Noh sold a 120 acre piece of unimproved land owned by him in Midland precinct to Frank Houfek for $56 per acre.
July 18, 1905 - reprinted November 26, 1980Miss Mary Bukacek purchased of Dr. Atkinson in Dodge what is known as the Bobsled store building, for $2,300. Miss Bukacek will move her stock in millinery in the building in a few days.
Joseph Krikac reports the sale of the Frank Hradec farm in Haymow precinct to E.W. Thorp for $52 per acre.
Phil Roether went to Creston, where he has secured a position in J.A. Conner’s elevator. Phil is a hustler and makes a good man wherever you put him.
F.W. Ruzicka has been named cashier of the First National Bank of David city. He previously was cashier at Tamora.
July 25, 1905 - reprinted December 3, 1980Kellner and Woerth of Scribner are making plans for the new Farmers State Bank building and work on it will commence in the near future.
George Severa and wife of Maple Creek precinct purchased a quarter section of the Bilby ranch lands of Folda and Mundil.
