URBAN, WILLIAM [July 9, 1909 - July 8, 1998]
WILLIAM URBAN FUNERAL JULY 14
The funeral of William Urban, 88, Schuyler, was July 14 at the Svoboda Funeral Home north chapel. Officiating at the 10 A.M. service was Blanche Kral, president of the ZCBJ Lodge 90, Schuyler.
Burial was in the Schuyler Cemetery.
Urban, a retired farmer, lived at Schuyler Nursing Center, where he died on July 8, 1998.
Visitation was at the funeral home's north chapel on July 13, from 12 noon to 8 P.M. and on the day of the service, from 8:30 to 10 P.M.
Pallbearers were Kenny Svoboda, Bill Scharf, Marvin Skarda and Darryl Houfek.
Urban was born on July 9, 1909, at Prague to Anton and Mary (Cuhel) Urban.
He attended rural schools.
He and Antonette Machacek were married on Jan. 14, 1931, in David City. She died on June 17, 1997.
Urban was a long-timer member of the ZCBJ lodge.
He is survived by one sister, Lillian Novak, Wahoo; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Houfek, Schuyler; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Donald; two sisters; and one brother.
