MACHACEK, ANTONIA (ONDRACEK) [May 5, 1887 - June 18, 1965]
RURAL HOMEMAKER DIES LAST WEEK
Mrs. Antonia Machacek, 78, rural homemaker, died June 18 at Memorial Hospital where she was admitted the same day. She had been ill about a week at her home two miles north of Schuyler.
Antonia, daughter of Karel and Barbara Ondracek, was born May 5, 1887, in Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States when she was 16 years of age. She was married to John Machacek Feb. 24, 1908, in Schuyler. They farmed in Colfax County and in 1928 moved to the farm north of Schuyler. Mr. Machacek died in 1957. She was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge since 1909.
Funeral service was Monday afternoon at the Svoboda Funeral Home with Lad Krejsa of Clarkson officiating. George C. and Miss Bozena Novotny sang hymns. Burial was in the Schuyler cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stanley Lapacek, Frank Krivohlavek, Otto Krivohlavek Jr., Joseph Divis, John Ternes and Elmer Herde. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Hovorka, Ladislav Bednar, Joseph Varejcka, James Fichtl, Joseph Krobot and Wm. Balovec.
She is survived by two sons, Alden of Schuyler and John J. of Ashland, four daughters, Antoinette, Mrs. William Urban of Linwood, Sylvia, Mrs. Robert Houfek of Schuyler, Olga, Mrs. Dan Gilbert, and Wilma, Mrs. Claire Lanning of Ashland; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brother, Stanley Ondracek of Schuyler and John C. Ondracek of Pataskala, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, seven brothers, and a grandson.

Among relatives and friends in Schuyler Monday for the funeral of Mrs. Antonia Machaek were Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Reznicek of Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. John Ondracek of Scribner, Mrs. Alfred A. Radek, Mrs. Rudy Volenedc and Mrs. Frank Paskach of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Lanning, John J. Machacek and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Gilbert and children of Ashland.
Mrs. Emil Kracl of North Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Datol of LInwood, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Belina of Pilger, Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Jedlicka of Clarkson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pojar and Mrs. Rudy Ondracek and Barbara of Madison.
