KADLECEK, JOSEPH [June 01, 1870 - December 30, 1937]
    Joseph Kadlecek, 67, former Schuyler business man, passed away Wednesday night of last week at his home in Eglewood, Colo., after an illness of five years.
    Mr. Kadlecek was born in Bohemia, June 1, 1870. He came to the United Sates with his parents and three younger brothers when he was 11 years of age. The family first settled in Dodge county seven years later moved to Hay Springs. Mr. Kadlecek and Miss Elizabeth Cilek were married at Hay Springs, Dec. 26, 1893. To this union were born two sons, Edward M. and Joseph A. Kadlecek. Edward passed away Feb. 9, 1948, at the age of 23 years.
    Mr. and Mrs. Kadlecek and two sons moved to Schuyler in 1900 where the family resided 22 years prior to giong to Englewood to make their home.
    Mr. Kadlecek was engaged in business in Schuyler for several years and also operated a dairy farm on the farm northwest of Schuyler now owned by Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Adams. He operated a grocery store in Englewood for two years, his partner being W. K. Jackson of David City. Later on he was proprietor of a news stand and a confectionary store in Denver. Surviving are the widow, a son, Joseph A. Kadlecek of Atwood, Colo., three brothers, Anton and Frank of Hay Springs, and Charles of Alpine, N.Y. and eight grandchildren.
    Funeral services were conducted at Mackin’s chapel in Englewood, Friday afternoon at 2 o;clkock, Father O’Heron officiating.
    The remains, accompanied by Mrs. Kadlecek, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Kadlecek and two sons, Frank and James, arrived in Schuyler Saturday morning. The burial services at the Schuyler cemetery Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock were conducted by Pallas Lodge No. 110, Knights of Pythias, of which Mr. Kadlecek was a member for a numbers of years.
    Mrs. Kadlecek and son, Joseph A., left Sunday evening for their homes. Mrs. Joseph A. Kadlecek and two sons, Frank and James, remained in Schuyler until Wednesday evning to visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Safarik.

URBAN, DONALD EUGENE [May 12, 1932 - March 6, 1938]
    Donald Eugene Urban, 5, only child or Mr. and Mrs. William Urban, farmers residing four miles east of Linwood, passed away at St. Mary’s hospital in Columbus Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock following a brief illness due to an attack of bronchial pneumonia.
    Donald was born in Schuyler May 12, 1932.
    Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Bideaux chapel, Rev. B.A. Filipi of Clarkson officiating. Miss Mayme Radhuas and Miss Martha Sobota sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" (Bohemian) and "Nearer My God to Thee," (Bohemian).
    The pall bearers were Phillip Shonka, Joseph Cernusak, William Krivohlavek and Frank Krivohfavek. Interment was in the Schuyler cemetery.
