Myrtie Helen (OFE) WEST

Myrtie Helen Ofe was born at Madison Nebraska, September 26, 1887. With her parents she removed to Antelope County in 1893 and until her marriage resided on the home farm north of Oakdale. On December 29, 1909 she was married to Guy E. West and a year later removed with her husband to a farm near LaJunta, CO. Following a brief illness she died at the hospital in LaJunta on November 12, 1912. The deceased united with the Oakdale M. E. Church eight years ago and with her husband transferred her membership to their Colorado home. She was a quiet, unassuming disposition, always cheerful, loving and dutiful. Friendships formed by her were real and lasting and her untimely death was the cause of sincere grief among all who knew her. She is survived by her husband and infant child, father, five sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, November 17, at the Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, and burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
