LESTER G WAKEFIELD

Word has been received of the death of Lester G WAKEFIELD, 58, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Oakdale. WAKEFIELD was born October 8, 1924 at Creston, NE and died November 27, 1982 while vacationing in Mexico City, Mexico. He grew up in Oakdale and graduated from Oakdale High School in 1942. After high school, WAKEFIELD served six years in the United States Navy. On December 31, 1944 he married Dona Jane SPRINGER at Sioux City, IA. WAKEFIELD worked as a construction engineer in Nebraska, Colorado and Florida. He was employed by Caldwell-McKnight of Fort Lauderdale at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil C. WAKEFIELD. Survivors include his wife, Dona, his mother, Mrs. Angelia WAKEFIELD, two daughters, Deborah SMITH and Patricia SCHRAMM, both of Churchill, TN, one brother, Robert and four grandsons.
