SILAS WATERS ULLOM
Abridged Obituary: At the home of his daughter, Mrs Charles LOWE in Oakdale, Friday, December 23, 1910, S. W. ULLOM died. He had been ill for several years. He was born in Knox County, Ohio on April 24, 1843. He was of Scotch descent. He was married to Catherine BROWN on September 12, 1864 at Cadiz, Wisconsin. To them eight children were born, five girls and three boys, five of who survive. Mrs ULLOM died in Wisconsin on August 7, 1882. He came to Nebraska on October 27, 1885 and in 1886 brought a farm in St Clair Valley. He was a member of the German Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist Episcopal Church, conducted by Rev. John S ELLIS and interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Surviving children are; Mrs John STUBBS of Correctionville, Iowa, John ULLOM of O’Neill, Mrs Clay SHORTT of Bum Pass, Virginia, Mrs Pat MURPHY and Mrs Charles LOWE of Oakdale.
