MURIEL STRINGFELLOW TYLER
Funeral services for Mrs. Gerrit TYLER were held at the Methodist church here at 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. C. W. SMITH had charge of the services and burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Services were held at 1 o’clock at Spalding, which was the home of Mrs. Tyler for a number of years. Muriel STRINGFELLOW, the eldest daughter of J. I. STRINGFELLOW and Ida F. Stringfellow, was born near Oakdale on April 28, 1905. Muriel attended the Oakdale Public School, graduating with honors with the class of 1922. On February 10, 1927, she was united in marriage with Garrit Van TYLER at Oakdale, Nebraska. To this union four children were born, Lois Marion TYLER, Garrit Van TYLER Jr., Phyllis Jean TYLER and Robert Lynn TYLER. On March 25, 1944, Muriel underwent a major operation at the Norfolk Naval Hospital at Portsmouth, Virginia. She was well on the way to recovery when on April 7, 1944, she suffered an attack of Addison Disease and passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 13, 1944. Muriel is survived by her husband and children, her mother Mrs. Ida F. STRINGFELLOW of Oakdale, one sister, Mrs. Amos COFFMAN, Dallas, TX. and three brothers, J. M. STRINGFELLOW, Springfield, IL., Francis L. STRINGFELLOW of Neligh, and Glenn STRINGFELLOW in the Armed Forces. Relatives from out of town: J. M. STRINGFELLOW of Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Amos COFFMAN of Dallas, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. TYLER and Mrs. Robert TYLER of Ainsworth, Mr. and Mrs. George SIEBOLD and sons of Laramie, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Frank ROBERTS and Mr. and Mrs. Frank PAYNE of Neligh and Mrs. Nannette WEIST of Mason City, IA.
