ALORA M. TENNIS
Alora May MULLINS was born near Ft. Leavenworth, Ks., December 8, 1857, and passed away at her home in Oakdale December 14, 1938, aged eighty-one years and six days. She was married to William T. TENNIS at Red Rock, Iowa, in 1874. In 1880 they came to Nebraska, residing near Oakdale. In 1914 they moved to Scottsbluff County, living there nine years and going from there to California and Oregon. At this time occurred the death of Mr Tennis at the home of their son at Creswell, Oregon. Later Mrs Tennis came back to Nebraska where she resided until her death. There are left to mourn her passing, one daughter, Maud E. MOURIER of Oakdale, California; two sins, Arthur E. TENNIS of Creswell, Or. and Percy TENNIS of Oakdale; thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister and six brothers. Funeral services were held at the home and the United Brethren church on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Wm. A. SAUER officiating. Burial in the Oakdale Cemetery.

DELBERT WALTER TENNIS
Funeral services for Dell TENNIS were held Tuesday afternoon at the U. B. Church, with Rev. Wm. SAUER in charge. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Mr. TENNIS, who had been suffering for some time with a heart ailment, died suddenly Saturday morning, July 2, 1938, of a heart attack. Delbert Walter TENNIS was born September 24, 1875, in Marion County, Iowa. He came to Nebraska with his parents in 1880, locating near Newman Grove but soon moved to near Oakdale, NE., where he lived four years when he moved to Sheridan County. He located in Scottsbluff County in 1914,. He was sixty-two years, nine months and seven days of age. He was united in marriage to Mrs Millie PARKHURST on November 3, 1921. He is survived by his wife and four children, Kenneth TENNIS, Murray TENNIS, Leta TENNIS and Lena TENNIS; his mother, Mrs. Alora TENNIS; eight stepchildren; two brothers Perce C. TENNIS of Oakdale and Arthur TENNIS of Creswell, OR. one sister, Mrs Maud MOURIER of Oakland, Ca.; his nephew Joe TENNIS of Oakdale and many more nieces and nephews. His father, two infants and one daughter and two sisters Minta TENNIS and Eliza TENNIS, preceded him in death.

PERCY C TENNIS
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 2 for Percy TENNIS, 79, of Oakdale at the Oakdale Methodist Church with the Rev. Willis TAPLIN officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs Keith COOPER, soloist, accompanied by Earl Henry MCNARE Jr. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Wilbur SCHUCHARDT, Donald OFE, Ralph KINNAN, William CORNETT, Earl MCNARE Sr, and Ted CROSIER serving as pallbearers. Percy C TENNIS, son of the late William and Alora TENNIS, was born July 18, 1885 at Clinton, Nebraska and died August 31, 1964. At the age of 13 he moved with his parents to the Oakdale community, where he spent most of his life farming and ranching. On August 10, 1911 he was married to Ora BURKHEAD at Neligh and to this union on son was born. They lived near Oakdale until 1958 when he and his wife moved to Oakdale, where they have since resided. Mr and Mrs TENNIS observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1961. He is survived by his widow, Ora, one son, Joe of O’Neill, one granddaughter, Mrs Larry GODEL, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death.
