Services for Thomas LeRoy Sharples of Lincoln, 52, were held Saturday, Febr. 13 at Butherus-Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Dr. Otis Young
officiating. Burial was in Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln. Pallbearers were nephews Dave Schwarting and Roger Reikofski and friends Ernie Voss, Dave Wagner, Doug Thompson and Howard Schroer. Sharples died Febr. 9, 1993 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln after suffering from leukemia. He was born May 25, 1940 at rural Oakdale, the son of Ray and Wilma (Thomsen) Sharples. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Church in Tilden. In 1956 he graduated from Oakdale High School and attended Wayne State College two years. He served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965. On March 8, 1986, he was married to Jan Lilja of Newman Grove in Lincoln. Survivors include his wife, Jan; son, Nathan Sharples of Lincoln from a previous marriage; his mother, Wilma of Neligh; one brother Robert of Neligh; three sisters, Mrs. Larry (Marlene) Schwarting of Falls City; Mrs. Cliff (Phyllis) Pittack of Tilden; and Mrs. Larry (Deloris)
Gergens of Hudson, Wis. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray, Febr. 9, 1982.
