Services for Rollie RODGERS, 87, of Neligh were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, at the Neligh Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Michael KISSNER officiating. Music was provided by W. C. COWIN, organist. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Phil HART, Herman HANSON, Roger HANSON, Alvin NELSON, Randy NELSON and Allan HANSON serving as pallbearers. Rollie Wilford RODGERS, son of James and Lillie RODGERS, was born October 26, 1896 at West Salem, Illinois and died on October 7, 1984 at Neligh. RODGERS grew to manhood on the family farm, one of nine children. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served during World War I. He was wounded in action and hospitalized in France when the armistice was declared. On June 4, 1928, RODGERS was married to Beula PERRY. They lived in Washington and Oregon for a few years. Most of their married life was spent in southern California and the Los Angeles area. RODGERS was employed by Ford Motor Co., Glendale Adventist hospital, and Lockheed aircraft. In 1965, RODGERS retired and the couple moved to Neligh. RODGERS was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church while he lived in California. He remained a member of the faith until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frankie, Roy and Lloyd, and two sisters, Edna and Annie. Survivors include his wife, Beula, two daughters, Mrs Claude (Eunice) THURBER of Lincoln and Mrs Donald (Eudeen) NELSON of Oakdale, one brother, James RODGERS of Celina, Ohio, two sisters, Lillie SMITH of West Salem, Illinois, and pluma BEEHN of Bloomington, Illinois, seven grand children and five great grandchildren.

Services for Beula I. RODGERS were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 20 at the Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral home in Neligh. Pastor David CROCKETT officiated at the services with interment in the Oakdale Cemetery. She died February 17, 1990 at the Neligh Nursing Center in Neligh. Serving as pallbearers were Tom Blackburn, Kern NELSON, Mick Petersen, Roger HANSON, Phil HART and Ray GRAY. She was born the daughter of Howard and Georgia HIGHT PERRY on July 21, 1901, on a farm near Creston, Iowa. The family moved to Colorado where they lived for many years. On June 4, 1927, she married Rollie RODGERS in Washington. They lived for many years in southern California. While there, she worked for fifteen years for "The Voice of Prophecy" radio organization. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for six years. In 1966, they moved from Glendale, California to Neligh. Her husband died in 1984. For the past five years, Mrs. RODGERS has been a resident of the Neligh nursing center. She is survived by a daugter, Mrs. Don (Eudeen) NELSON of Oakdale, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, one brother, two sisters and a granddaughter.
