Clement Fisher RENO
After a lingering illness of many months C.F. RENO died at his home in this city Saturday, February 7. Funeral services were held Monday at the home, conducted by Rev. C.L. MEYERS, and interment was made in the Oakdale cemetery. Clement Fisher RENO was born in Wapello County, Iowa, November 19, 1844. The early part of his life was spent in Marion County, Iowa, where, at Knoxville, he was married to Olive STALEY on June 11, 1871. Early in the year 1880 Mr RENO came to Antelope County and located on a farm north of the Elkhorn in the Malzacher neighborhood. Here he engaged in the stock business in partnership with his brother, I. C. RENO, and later established a feeding plant adjoining Oakdale on the north. He retired from active business life about sixteen years ago. For nearly forty years Oakdale had been his home. Among the early settlers of the county he had a wide acquaintanceship and his loyalty, honesty and fair dealing made for him many close friends. He was a man of strong convictions and took a decied stand on all national, state and local questions. In the upholding of Oakdale and the surrounding community he was a prominent factor and his influence was always exerted on the side of right and good citizenship. In his home life he was kind and considerate, and nephews and nieces will ever cherish tender and loving memories of Uncle Clem. The community has sustained a distinct loss in his death. The deceased is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs George LEE of White Cloud, Kansas, and two brothers, I.C. RENO of Oakdale and James RENO of Los Angeles, California.
