Funeral services were held at 2 pm., Wednesday, Aug 11 at the Neligh United Methodist Church for John William Peterson with the Rev. Harold J. Coates officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cenetery and serving as pallbearers were Mark Sehl, Lloyd W. Reynolds, Bernard Klinetobe, Glenn Bitney, Thomas Schrader and Billy Godkin. Music was provided by Mrs. Marquerite Carnes, organist, and Mr. Rahe, Benny Johnson, Vocalist. Hoepfinger's Home for Funderls in Neligh, NE was in charge of Arrangements. John William Peterson, 76 of Neligh, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson, died Saturday, Aug 7, in the Lutheran Hospital at Norfolk. He was born April 20, 1895, in Boone County, moved to Antelope County with his parents in 1901 and lived on farms northeast of Neligh most of his life. He was united in marriage to Pearl Gladys Hauptman on Nov 23, 1916 and made their home seven and one-half miles northeast of Neligh until her death in 1955. He married to Fern Simonds Caubarrus on January 7, 1966. Survivors include his wife, Fern; her two daughters; his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Moore; two grandchildren, Melvin Moore and Mrs. Karen Brotheres, both of Neligh; three sisters, Mrs. Pete Jensen of Azusa, Calif., Mrs. Edith Hansen of Bellevue, Nebr., and Mrs. Cecelia Furstenau of Fremont, Nebr." !Obit: Neligh (Nebr.) PEARL GLADYS HAUPTMAN PETERSON
Mrs. William J. PETERSON, who lived eight miles northeast of Neligh, was fatally injured about 8;30 last Thursday evening when kicked by a cow which she was milking. The attending physician said death resulted from internal injuries. Mrs. Peterson was kicked in the head and abdomen and died while waiting for an ambulance to take her to the Neligh hospital. Pearl Gladys Hauptman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hauptman, was born August 9, 1894, at Julian, Nebr., and died at Neligh, Nebr., on June 16, 1955, at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 7 days. She received her education in Nemaha and Antelope counties.
On Nov 23, 1916, she was married at Neligh, Nebr., to William J. Peterson and they ahve lived their entire married life on a famr northeast of Neligh. One daughter was born to the couple. Mrs. Peterson was a charter member of the Rainbow Extension Club. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Moore, Neligh; two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Lottie Hauptman, Neligh; three sisters, Miss Marie Hauptman of Neligh, Mrs. R. G. Knapp of Clearwater, and Mrs. Axel Delefsen of Sweet Home, Ore., and three brothers, William and Dilver Hauptman of Neligh and Allie Hauptman of Molalla, Ore.
Funeral Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Neligh Medthdist Church. Rev. Kenneth Saunders of Omaha officiated. Music was furnished by the church choir. Pallbearers were Allard Mosel, Thomas Schrader, Alfred Brocherson, Pete Pallesen, Carl Schrader and Granger Hill. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Neligh."
