Obituary-The Oakdale Sentinel-March 19, 1926

CHARLES NATHAN NEWTON

Abridged: Charles Nathan NEWTON was born in Wisconsin on April 22, 1851 and died March 9, 1926 at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 15 days. In his boyhood days he moved to Iowa with his parents. In September 1879 he married Miss Rachel RICE at Cedar Falls, Iowa. The same year they came to Antelope County and homesteaded in Cedar Township. In 1923 they moved to Oakdale. Five children were born to this union: Mrs Pearl EVANS of Kearney, Francis H of Memphis, TX, Cary E ANDERSON of Oakdale, George E of Pomona, CA and Emma M BURKHEAD of Oakdale. He leaves his wife, five children, several grandchildren, one brother, George W NEWTON of Morurovia, CA and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren Church Friday afternoon, March 12 and interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery.
